The keyboard your talking about is the HTC_IME keyboard. We can't give links since it's copyrighted by HTC and they don't want people distributing it. You can always use google and xda-developers.com though.

Also no you need ext2 for apps2sd you don't need it to get these android roms to work though
 
ok i found the file and instaled it...but i keep getting FC now.... :(

EDIT: nvm...got it working..looks like i got the wrong file lol..

Hello all,

ive been trying out this R7 rom and everything is well so far EXCEPT, when i am viewing a video in Youtube and i want to "share" it, then it takes me to the youtube sign-in and it tells me that " some applications such as youtube cant be accessed with my android email account, sign in to a youtube account to use these applications"

Its not big of a deal but i like to send videos to my friends, before i didnt have to use a different sign in , Does anybody else have this issue ?


BTW BH_MAN's R7 iz the way samsung should of made this fone.......

Hi, i'd like to do some investigating into the vib issue. I'm not quite sure how to unpack BH_MAN's cooked 1.6 rom? I have the system file extracted but unyaffs throws segmentation fault, so i am not sure exactly how i am able to get in to see the contents.

Do i need to mount it or what?
 
BH MAN,i have made a custom rom based on your R7 rom,i have removed some of the services(15 services) such as lcdtest.apk,etc.. and replaced default keyboard and default apps.
I just basically lightened up your R7 rom.This rom is really fast and has great battery life can i post it on this site under a name like BH_MAN_Lite?
 
lviv73 I dont think he would mind but just call it Galaxy 1.6 LITE ("Based off of BH_MAN's R7") or something like that.

Ok so after snooping around i have found that the vibration is missing because it was tied into touchwiz, specifically these:
Binary file ./framework/services.odex
- HardwareService$VibrateThread

Binary file ./app/TouchWizPhone.odex
- TwDialer
- Ringer
However, i am still confused as to why the vibrate is not working, if we are using the galaxy 1.6 kernel and a galaxy 1.6 rom then it should vibrate the "normal" android way and not still want to vib via touchwiz..
 
Wow, that would be kickass if you found out why vibrate didn't work. It always works well when you get smart people working together:-P

This is awesome that more than just BH_MAN is brain storming to figure this out, but I do know that BH_MAN's Galaxy 1.5 rom for this phone was missing vibrate as well. He was able to make it work on the BH2 Stock 1.5 No Twiz rom. So it sounds like this is a Galaxy specific problem, regardless of the OS version.

I did a fresh install of the R7 ROM and I am still having issues with the WiFi not reconnecting when coming out of sleep mode. Anyone else still experiencing this? I am having the issue with multiple access points so I am pretty sure it is the phone and not anyone network.
 
So this automatically gives me root access when I use ODIN right? I'm trying to use a root app but I don't know if the app itself isn't working or I don't have root. It's the barnacle wifi tether.
