Root aospX 1.0.0-MR1 - ICS 4.0.4, AOSP

I bought Edomondo at the 10 cent sale last year. Never use it though. Any issues with Maps and Navigation?

Thanks Omar. Solid job.

... Hhhmmm, what's BR7?

Back on Sense, with Blackout ICS Incredible 3.1.1. Writing new scripts and testing them.

I WILL BE BACK! :D

BR7 is the older version of this ROM.

You may all be pleased to know that I gave it one more go tonight cleared everything right down wiped everything and installed the latest version MR1, and the GPS now works! So installed everything and have the phone pretty much how I want it now!

Glad to hear all is now working.

Am back on Blackout ICS. Battery life is same or even a little bit worst than aospX. aospX has more aggressive auto brightness settings, which may account for the difference.

The Chrome browser works, but with glitches. Chrome works perfectly on aospX.

Symphony of Eternity also runs perfectly with this ROM. I get a few slowdowns with Blackout.

I love the Sense widgets, and use 5 of them. I also prefer the Sense look and feel, but I feel like aospX is the better ROM.

Decisions.

I'm on Blackout too :D

I prefer non-sense Roms overall, but I love Sense widgets, so pretty.

I'm thinking of checking out MIUI after I spend a week or so on Blackout before heading back to Jelly time.

I'm with you on this one.. Rooted almost from day 1, running de-sensed Stock then onto CyanogenMod & LC's IceCold. It was the need for Calculator widget that got me back on Sense, and Blackout has been the very best. However, no Sense 3.0/3.5/3.6 ROM has this widget working properly (there is a display glitch) so I'm going back to basics until a proper 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 arrives (running a pretty good 4.0.3 atm & this widget is fixed/working)

This looks like a good place to start de-Sensing my senses.

Nothing. Was just kidding :D

You got me very confused :D

At first I thought you didn't know what is was then realised that was impossible.

Then I thought it must be some terrible unworkimg ROM.

But then I realised I'd seen videos of people using it :P

scotty85 has used MIUI. No app drawer, so it works a bit like/mimics iOS. Hence, the dislike from some Android types. A lot of innovation comes from MiUI development since this ROM takes the patch lesser travelled on the Android side.

I've been looking at this thread for a few days now and yesterday I though I'd give this ROM a go. WOW.....quite impressed by it. Everything works as far as I can see. Chrome works as it should and even tried (cough cough) Smartglass for the xbox. It actually works....amazing....can control your xbox via your smartphone! It runs smoothly and all my apps work. Only thing missing is a lack of tweaks for this ROM but is that not a bad thing...tbh. I charged it up this morning so we'll so how good the battery life is.

I will probably use an app like appdrawer from the play store

On battery life, I read on the XDA aospX thread that disabling auto rotate increases battery life substantial on this ROM, on in reverse using it consumes a lot more than it should maybe.

Is it possible to run Google Now on this rom? Been running this rom for over a week now and the battery life is better than I expected so I want to stick with it for a little longer.

tried this for 2 weeks.
wi-fi, and mobile networks have problems connecting.
text does not render properly, sometimes.
keep having to re-boot.

so, blackice for the next couple of weeks. see how that goes :-)

What radio are you using. The distorted text is an known iCS issue, which affects even the Galaxy Nexus occasionally. Have not encountered it myself with this ROM, but was on the stock AOSP launcher. What launcher did you use?

You can enable the back kill button in Settings > Developer Options and use that to kill the launcher instead of rebooting to fix distorted text.

i have no idea. it's on blackice now lol.
the text didn't bother me so much, it was the network connectivity that i found really annoying
