There was a post back a bit about not being able to get the same insurance from a BB store purchase as you do going to a VZW store.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I've had very good experiences with Assurion, and would possibly even wait an extra 4 days......... to get TEC from Assurion.

Thanks!

You should be able to add insurance to any new phone you purchase for Verizon within 15 days of activating it. BB might not be able to add it but you can just call Verizon and have them do it. Even if they try to give you crap have them call Assurion and see if they will let you add it. I've had to do this several times for company phones and have learned as long as youre willing to pay the premium Assurion will add you. Just make sure it's within 15 days of you purchasing it.

Although Kappy is one of the few I would believe on here, this so called Ad I find hard to believe only because it plays on everything that's been discussed here.

I have a really hard time believing that VZW's marketing department came up with that image based on what has been going on here.

(am I just missing something here).

I WANT TO BELIEVE YOU KAPPY but my gut just said BS!

Who said it was an advertisement aimed at customers?

comment on BGR states they think the 6 is code for 6 new devices coming out
Bold, Incredible, Nexus One, 2 Project Pink Phones, last one being a netbook

Flame on..... incredibly
That makes sense. We've all been hearing about an abundance of devices coming to VZ.

Believe me, believe what you want with the pic. I think the pic looks fake and horrible, but it is what was passed along to me. And to be honest, I probably couldn't even do that in photoshop. :o I'm real bad with that kind of stuff.

How ridiculous would it be if Verizon was following this forum and did the "top secret box" thing just to f**k with us.

Or MM is a Verizon exec who's job it is to mess with our heads

I doubt they will roll lte to rural areas before 2 years, so u should be fine.
From my discussions with the network installers, this isn't going to be the kind of deployment that they place in a few major cities at once. They have been upgrading all of the data nodes over the last year so this will really just be upgrading every tower in 3rds of the country and moving across the nation, overlapping Verizon's current coverage.

I hope you're right. where I live neither tmobile nor ATT have 3g and sprint drops calls I've you are off the main road thru town. For being the only option, I hope VZW shows us some lte love.

Who said it was an advertisement aimed at customers?

ok you got me ;) So your saying someone a VZW made this for employee's? What so it would get leaked and toy with our emotions?

If it's fake just say it's fake but I still call foul on this.

Who said it was an advertisement aimed at customers?

I'm still trying to piece together why this would be sent out today, unless there is an imminent announcement... Because all our recent info implies we are still 2-3 weeks away from release.

Any ideas?

lol I think I agree with what people are saying/thinking. This is something internal. I know NOTHING about it. I was just asked to pass it on. I think it looks pretty damn shotty to be an advertisement to the public, but for an interal advertisement, it'd be fine.

VZW has how many employees to send e-mails out to? 80k or something? Maybe a morale booster for all the *hit employees have been enduring from the public about phones and plans and *hit? I dunno.

I have been lurking this forum for the last few months. I have never made a post because I have never had any information. I work in IT, so naturally co-workers will be asking me about new phones. One co-worker mentioned they wanted a new phone, I was also aware that they were able to contact our verizon rep. She was able to confirm through the rep that "There is a new HTC phone comming out this month, but i can't tell you anything else!"

I know this has been said before, but I feel like this is the truth. I guess this adds to the hope we will have a new phone soon.

BGR and NKT make it seem like this was just something for Verizon employees. Yes, it does seem that they have based it upon what they have read here.
Montana Man, they need to send you some money for using your ideas! :)

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I wasn't personally attacking you. I would say that any of the authorized resellers in this area are horrendous and you can bet that I strongly suggest the visit a corporate store. It's a bad experience for them when they go to a reseller who tells them the wrong thing and then we have to correct it. Happens every day, there are numerous resellers around the store I am at.

It's all good. My feeling were not hurt. I just wanted to make sure that people know that what you are saying is not always the case.

You are right in saying that the lower end resellers are very bad. I personally shop all Verizon stores, corporate and resellers, to see what and how they handle things. I do research on other stores constantly to help improve my stores customer service.

Plus, more often then not. I can not only match online prices I can beat them. Like with the Curve 2, I can give that out for free all day long. Or the Droid. I can give it out cheaper then a corporate store or online.

Anybody see this on the internet this morning:

NEW YORK (AP) - Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg says the company has told Apple that it wants to carry the iPhone. But he declined to say when - or even if - the popular smart phone will be available for Verizon Wireless customers.
In remarks Tuesday before the Council on Foreign Relations, Seidenberg cited a recent Wall Street Journal report that said Apple is working on a version of the iPhone that would be compatible with Verizon's network.
But he did not confirm the report or give any further details Tuesday.
AT&T Inc. has exclusive rights to the iPhone in the United States. The company has been silent about the reports on the new iPhone model. Apple is expected to announce details on a new iPhone operating system Thursday in Cupertino, Calif.

Or all the multiple individuals that make public requests for these boards to remain on topic are Verizon employees that have to sit here and sift through all of this to find out what "users are saying"

I've NEVER bought a phone through Best Buy or anywhere aside from my local VZW corporate store or phone sales. Does it work the same?

The last phone I bought, I bought at Best Buy. It just so happened to be the week of its release, and instead of paying $80 for it at a VZW Store, Best Buy offered it straight away for $30, and an insurance plan. So I'm not fool, I bought it at Best Buy, about a year and a half later I had an issue with the phone, (When I called the insurance provider I bought w/ the phone, they said it would cost $60 to send me a new phone, I said the hell with paying double what I paid for for this phone, I could buy a new one for that) I took it to a VZW store and when they analyzed it they immediately picked up on the fact that it was sold to me from a Best Buy Store. They then said, since I Bought it at BB I wasn't under the same insurance as I was for VZW. Then they said something very interesting: "Look, from now on, buy with VZW, not BB. They sell pre-sused, and pre-tested phones there, that they box as new." I was like "B.S. I BOUGHT MY PHONE THE RELEASE WEEK, IMPOSSIBLE" The VZW Dude said I'm telling you this for your own good" I said Well Have you heard of the "Incredible? When's that coming out All WiSE VZW GUY?" He said soon, he used it and it was unbelievable(His words) and I asked WHEN EXACTLY? And he walked to the back and never returned. . . I wish he was going back to bash my phone, and replace it with an incredible. I have to have that phone, and It's not because I'm Totally Crazy!

If the reports are accurate, then this email was sent to Verizon employees. As NKT also implied, this could just be a memo sent out for internal viewing. Based on these things, there's no reason to believe that this is a targeted-marketing ploy at Verizon customers.

I agree, it's a horrible photoshop job, however seeing that it was only intended for viewing by VZW employees it doesn't have to be perfect. Just needs to get the employees excited. I think it could be real considering it's intended audience. Thanks, Kappy!
