Help Text messages...please tell me...

That there is a way to change it to a basic list of messages between two people without downloading a program. I came from the Dinc and the list of message after message was much better for me.

The text "balloons" are beyond juvenile. Of the dumb things HTC had to copy from Flapple....

Sorry, I don't use the standard messaging app, but I checked quickly and didn't notice any way to change it.

Is there some reason you need to use the standard app? There are so many good ones that will do what you need ..

I would like one that still bubbles up to the lock screen like the stock app does.

Many pop over the lock screen (such as Handcent, which is what I use). If you need the pop over and customized conversation list layouts (non-bubbles), several 3rd party ones can do great. Handcent is my favorite, but there are lots of others as well.

Sorry I can't answer your original question though, I don't see a way to do it in the standard app ..

I use Go SMS and it pops up over the lockscreen. There are many free skins for Go SMS as well.

I downloaded Handcent and it is pretty good. I am not overly fond of the from the bottom to the top but I do like being able to reply to text message while the phone is locked.

Right now I am getting odd abnormal close errors so I don't want to go crazy with skins yet until I am totally sure its not a hardware isolated phone issue.
