Best way to clean the screen?

I was trying to use the spen but the screen was too oily for it to be very responsive. So what's the best way to clean the screen? Wouldn't a microfiber cloth just spread the oil around? Do I need to use alcohol or something?

I use a warm, damp sponge or microfiber cloth with a drop of mild detergent followed by clean microfiber cloth. Works great! Same way I clean iPad and computer monitors. Never had an issue or scratch.

your sleeve! Mine always comes up clean.

Bit OTT isnt it cleaning it with lense cleaner etc, which you will then touch with oily fingers?!

I use a real microfiber cloth. If the screen is really dirty, I dampen the cloth on one corner then dry with another corner. I was using my eyeglass cleaner but I found out a true microfiber cloth works much better on fingerprints. uploadfromtaptalk1355489654274.jpg

I always use micorfiber lens cloths made for eyeglasses and a quick spray of the lens cleaner.

Microfiber cloths wear out, or at least craps out eventually. I go through a few a year and they get to a point where they are just spreading around the oils.

Every year I go to the eye doctor and am thrilled to get the free spray and cloth handout to clean my gadgets with (lol, the little things).

What do you mean by a true microfiber cloth?

I've had cloths that say microfiber but they are just smooth, almost shiny looking squares. They just smear stuff around. I look for microfiber cloths that look almost like a shammy and they grab the junk right off the screen.

Your pant leg just before the knee works pretty well and if you have a real dirty spot the bottom of your shirt or sleeve cuff work well for rubbing hard.

I put on a Spigen Ultra Oleophobic screen protector and since then it's needed nothing but a quick shirt wipe. It really makes a difference.

I'm going to try one of these next time, I use the ultra clear atm but the Ultra Oleophobic seems to get better reviews.
Btw i usually just dampen one end of an old t-shirt and wipe it dry with the other part, I do have screen cleaners in sealed pouches, might try one of them sometime.
