Funny you should mention Iphone this is how the argument started.
Someone posted about Verizon getting an Iphone and the resident dood that works for AT&T chimed in with this.....
4G, which is WiMax for Sprint and LTE for Verizon and AT&T is still 18 months away, unless one lives in a trial market. Today there are no (zero) 4G handsets. A 4G iPhone is like nearly 2 years away.


While Apple may be making a CDMA iPhone to sell in India, South Korea, China, etc, there will not be a CDMA iPhone in the US anytime in 2010. It's just a whirlwind of unfounded rumors which keep coming up every 2 months or so and are subsequently put to rest.

That's because VZ has to move to LTE, you are up against the glass ceiling with no other upgrade path. AT&T has HSPA 7.2 to bridge the gap. So what your saying is VZ will have 25-30 markets this year, but no devices that will allow the subscriber to utilize that network. OK, I guess that makes sense.

I can hear it now, "Dude, I'm on VZ with their LTE network, I can't wait to get a handset that will work on it".

Furthermore, as you undoubtedly realize, LTE pricing will be based on tiered consumption like home internet is today. So I like the idea of VZ being first to market to establish the price points early, even if the user can't access the network from their 3G device.

So go on VZ, go big, go expensive and go fast - I mean it's not like Uverse is kicking the hell out of FiOs at a fraction of the investment...right?

Wow what a day. I could not monitor the forum since 7:30 a.m. or so due to work. Incredible detective work MM. I swear, when I saw the box I nearly hurled!!!! Things are gonna' start happenin' now!:D

IMO VZW is just wrapping up getting this device integrated into the systems..I think things are a lot further along than we think.

I just can't figure out why the info is being to tightly guarded...but then again maybe it's always like this and I just didn't pay this close attention to it.
 
I about pooped my pants.. I went to vzw smartphone page and it showed 20 phones at the top. It has been at 19 for weeks. I thought no way is the inc out. Then I see that they added the violet colored curve for $29.00. Dam them for making me get all excited...:mad:
