Root Disabling the annoying start-up sound

Is there any app out there that'll reliably disable the startup sound on a Rooted HTC Evo V 4G? I tried Start-up Manager but it only disables the sound whenever I restart the phone.. the startup sound still comes if I power the phone off and turn it back on.

r u complaining about the stock rom bootup animation and sound ? just pick a custom rom then .

/system/customize/resource then delete htclightningbolts.mp3 or something like that. Can't remember the exact name.

To add to this, as a personal preference, I don't like to delete files like that in case I ever want them back. I just add a .bak file extension to the end of it which makes it unusable. Then you just delete the .bak off the name if you ever want it back again.
