Pure messenger widget

very interesting.
You are not the first one to contact me about this problem.
But I have never been able to understand it.

I'll need details :
- device ?
- ROM ?
- on all message types ? (sms, gmail, email, tw, fb ?)
- always on same contacts ?

I actually resolved this problem late last night. It was a simple matter of importing contact info. Not sure what would cause this, but I noticed that if you have a contact listed with both a phone number and an email address I had to add the picture for both portions of the contact information. Minor workaround as long as people know about it. When you go into the contact information to edit it you can scroll down to the different portions of information. Each portion will sometimes have an icon indicating that a photo can be used for that specific contact. Provided each icon is replaced with a user generated icon it will begin to appear correctly. I'm running droid 2.1

However, there is a down side. I am an avid messager. I text a ton and get a lot of email pertaining to a non profit organization I chair. I had to actually remove Pure Messenger because it consistently wouldn't refresh properly. I tried to remove the widget and replace it and no improvement. I even went so far as to uninstall the program and reinstall it. For now I have just removed it from my homepage until it is usable for my needs.

Thank you very much for this solution !
I'll check what I can do to solve this in PM.

"Pure Messenger because it consistently wouldn't refresh properly", you mean it's have difficulties to follow you refresh rate ? does it miss some refresh ? If yes, that's really annoying.

As I stated before, I text a lot. It's not uncommon for me to send/receive 50-75 texts an hour regularly. I noticed that I would go over an hour without a single notification and the widget showed no new activity. I then opened my messenger to find that I had many unread texts. This happened several times before I decided that I needed to remove the widget.

I would like to see myspace added into the mix. Would it be possible to add myspace friend updates to your list of possible updates?

I hope, I'll be able to fix this...

No, I don't want to include MySpace right now to avoid memory explosion. Each new provider cost CPU and memory... and MySpace is almost dead :(

Thats cool, i understand. I thought that there might be issues with myspace not allowing you to do something like that.

Please don't think I was trying to be bitchy! I only stated it in more detail because I thought you wanted to know exactly what it was doing that caused me to shelf it for now. I love your apps and I think you do phenomenal work!

Hi!
Thanks for making this app available through pay pal. I have just payed for it but when i try to download it all i see is some sort of error message in french. I don't understand french but here's the message:

L'erreur 404 est un code d'erreur dans le protocole HTTP. Ce code est renvoy

I downloaded this today and am pretty impressed by the concept. However, when I tap a GMail email, to read it (with the open using Gmail option), it doesn't open the email but instead takes me to a GMail inbox - and not necessariy even the inbox relating to the account of the message.

Similalry, opening an SMS appears to be impossible (no action) with HTC Sense selected as the appropriate app.

I am running an HTC Desire with Android 2.1 (Eclair) and HTC Sense.
Am I doing something wrong or is this aspect not working yet?

Since it's a 404 message it seems that the file isn't available any more. Please get back to me on how to resolve this.

Thanks!

Email me for the download link if it still doesn't works. My email is on the blog.

Forgot one thing...
When will the "pure music" widget be available. And is it only for home++?
Thanks

You have choice, you can use original app to see the message, or use the internal viewer (just check in options to enable internal viewer).

It is not possible to open directly a conversation (neither in gmail nor in SMS app).

thanks so much for this app! just one issue since i upgraded my eris to 2.1. i have pure messenger widget set to be the only app notifying me of emails/text messages, which it is doing quite well, but every time it plays my notification sound three times instead of once. is there a setting i need to change for this? it wasn't an issue in 1.5.

thanks!

Hum ... that's weird.
I'll need a logcat to understand the problem.

i don't know how to do a logcat...if it's easy, let me know and i'll try. for now i just switched off the notifications and have gmail and messages notifying me instead. no big deal if it's just my problem. thanks!

yup, it's weird. it seems to be doing different things each time it sends a notification...like, it gives me a notification but doesn't show the icon, then it shows the icon, then it shows the email...with a notification for each of those. ah well. thanks for your help!
