What free teathing app works for a stock unrooted boost zte warp? I have tried pdanet it conects but drops internet conection.

For the warp, the best USB tether is built in, but its hidden.
You need a different launcher like holo launcher. Then create a shortcut on the desktop, long press and hold, select activities. Then find settings, that will open more options, scroll down til you find tether settings and select it. Bam! It should pull up a hidden tether menu
USB is the only thing that works, but its built in

That only works on ROMs that have it unlocked... the tether menu is locked on the stock ROMs... so even with the shortcut it doesn't work and the only displayed option is "help" as opposed to "help", "USB tethering" and "WI-FI hotspot"(which doesn't work on boost roms yet)...

Thanks! It worked for me. And there's no way for Boost to know about it?

Holo Launcher fix worked for brand new warp (boost) as of 2-24-13
There is one sorta tricky part. there are several choices that say "Settings" but only one has no subtitle (in smaller font) and is the main settings menu. Besides having no subtitle, it will have the circle and arrow on the left side of it.

hold long click in holo launcher desktop --> shortcut ---> activities --> SETTINGS

Then select one that says:

Settings
com.android.settings.TetherSettings

It will put a button on your Holo Launcher that says settings. Change the name to tether by long clicking the icon, and choosing edit.

only the usb tether worked, wifi hotspot was clickable, but did nothing.

If you haven't bought the phone already, skip boost and go straighttalk, it works with 1-click tether (no root) and it gets great 4g speeds. The boost warp was WAY slower. I haven't had a glitch yet with straighttalk service, and that has never happened before!!! Hate to give Wal-Mart my biz, but straighttalk is working better that atnt, T-mobile, MetroPCS, clearwire, and my buddies Boost I helped him with. ST is only $45 a month. Haven't gotten any warnings or throttles yet that I know of. I'm not a ST rep, I'm just very happy to finally have a lower priced service that doesn't send me warnings, throttle, or try and manipulate my usage. I got a s2 on craigslist for $180, bought the at&t card from online straighttalk ($15) plugged it in, changed the vpn settings, and it has worked ever since. My gf did the same scenario and has had equal success.
