Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Senseless

I think almost every custom rom (I've tried) has that feature disabled for some reason... You can take screenshots by holding the power button down and selecting Screenshot, but other than that, you probably do need to try an app that gives you other ways to take screenshots.
 
I was pretty excited about this rom, but i flashed 1.06 and my battery went down the toilet. My phone was at 98% at 8 am this morning. I have my phone on (but didn't use) at school. I put it on airplane mode at approximately 11:30. But by 3:30 I had 65% battery left! Phone idle was at 40% battery consumption. What is going on? I can't tolerate this hideous of battery life. If there isn't a solution I may have to look at other roms. Anyone else have bad battery life?
 
Love this ROM already. I was still getting Radio Frequency Interface Shortage error, but I read thru the thread and saw your comment on the sprint update. After doing that it worked fine. The battery life seems Meh so far, but I've also been doing a lot on it!

Yeah, I mean I had a samsung galaxy s original, the captivate, on AT&T before this phone, and I almost always got two days out of it. I always keep my brightness as low as possible. I pretty much use this phone the exact same as I used to. I struggle to get 1 day out of this battery...rarely do I see it with more than 30% left after 1 day. Shouldn't newer phones be better??
 
There will be a rom update when the anthrax kernel gets an update (which should be in a day or so)

I don't wanna update the rom, then have to update it right after lol

Yes busybox is included. You need it for Titanium Backup, which is included in this rom.

Keep in mind that this rom has the cpu and gpu overclocked by default, so you might want to adjust those if you want more battery life...

Do we have to do a full wipe whenever we update this rom?

Pushing power and volume down does take a screen shot. I just tried it ^_^

Nope! A full wipe is not needed. Just system, and all of cache (which should be automatically wiped during installation)

Been running for 24+ hours now with no issues whatsoever. (No reboots during calls, no random reboots, etc)

Meh ? :D I had to buy a 1.5 amps car charger for this ROM cause 1 000 would not charge it sufficiently anymore

P.S. cant wait for the update even if i have to flash one every day :P

How do I get it? Do I need to use my pc, or can I just ota it to my card, then flash it?

These pins & needles are killing me. :D

Also panel, I have another query.
Why my screen times out and goes to sleep, if a call comes through, a sense lock screen comes up to answer or ignore. I thought that sense was removed from this rom. Also, we were that happens, I cannot ignore the call, as when I slide the circle over ignore, it still answers the call.
I do have widget locker installed, and my custom lock screen comes up when I wake up the phone. This problem only happens when I have an incoming call.

The rom has nothing to do with how much amperage is required to charge your battery, that's a constant with all Li-ion batteries, some roms might not be as energy efficient because they have gone for max performance but again that in no way affects the charge rate of your battery. Unless you're using a high performance rom and the battery can't keep up. That's why they make removable batteries so one can be charging as the other is discharging.
 
I am not sure on technical details but thx for trying to explain.

After installing this ROM and adding a few 4g tweaks I realized that with regular 1 amp car charger battery level was slowly going down and it was discharging. So I got a 1.5 amp car charger and now everything fine , but lets see this new overclock :D

p.s. wonderful so far all the stability tests running fine

Just as an fyi, you shouldn't have externel power continually connected while using the device, for one it'll screw with your battery calibration if you never cycle the battery, a much better solution is either a spare or extended battery as opposed to being tethered to the charger.Good Luck :smokingsomb:
 
Thx . But I spend 12 - 15 hours a day driving , so I keep it charging at all times , but later when I will get the whole kit ( extended battery , back cover and case + screen protector ) I am going to try to keep it cycling

How do i get the changes in kernel tuner to stick ?

Just installed... Ill bring phone outa sleep, and go to move lock circle and phone is frozen.. It sits there on lockscreen for a few seconds and then reboots... :( Anything ?
 
I'm still getting the error when I try to update.

Edit: Is there another way to get this update? When I use goo manager, I keep getting a download error.
