I think earlier in this thread there were talks about it costing between $600 to almost $800 so I hope this isn't the case for your sake. Is there a reason you don't want to renew your contract and yet purchase this phone which only works on their network? Just curious

I guess I will this time. In the past I have always been hesitant because of Sprint's lineup, but now that it is greatly improved I guess its not an issue any more.

Totally understandable. I agree their past lineups have been anorexic compared to all the other carriers, but I've never had a problem (despite all the bad reports) about their customer service and their network. I hope you too will find that they have the best value as far as what you get per plan AND that they are starting to really beef up their lineup. Jackson (supersonical) even says that there will be TEN different android phones by the end of this year for Sprint! Anyways...welcome aboard! Glad to have another user excited about this phone!
 
How come my signature doesn't show up when I quote someone but does when I post a quick reply?? odd...am I doing something wrong?? anyone?:confused:

When the screen goes idle, it dims, like many other phones. But when the user taps on the screen the screen doesn't just wake up, but it also opens up whatever you may have tapped on. On my Pre, if the screen dims and I tap it, the device just wakes up - it doesn't select. Noticeable 3:00 into the video.

I hope they change this :\

I believe, but not 100% certain, that the fourm has the software add on that allows your signature to show up on your first post on the page, but not afterwards on that same page to save space. It may also be for the quotes.

Its funny, but just like the incredible thread, this thread is starting to be the source of alot of the online reporting sites in reference to the rumored release date. lol

Well good night all....Tomorrow's a new day and it brings us one day closer to the 16th which I hope turns out to be an amazing day with lots of info/goodies!!! 8 days in counting....fingers crossed!!! until then we wait and lurk around here with hopes of new info to keep us tide over lol... we've all got the evo fevo.... get it??? lol

I really like being here b/c not only do we talk about the evo but we share good thoughts and opinions and knowledge is contagious!! We learn about wimax, LTE and lots more while making bonds and friendships along the way!!!

See you all tomorrow...now I go lay down on my couch and watch some Fios tv... The Yankees won and took the series from the Boston bum sox lol.... I think I dislike Boston as much as I dislike Apple lol.... CiAoOoOoO!!!

But seriously, it's been interesting following this thread, even if it does seem to go off-topic at times.

However, learning more about LTE and Wimax has been very interesting, not just in terms of the EVO, but of the technology will affect the world as a whole in the near future.
 
Been lurking here for a few weeks now so I guess it's time for some input.

I was doing a bit of research on WiMAX availability in my area and ran across some interesting iPhone info (I know this isn't an iPhone forum) in an article. Some excerpts:

Which would mean the iPhone is still tied to AT&T's already overburdened network for another year?

Well I hated being a Verizon customer, and I would hate to be another disappointed customer on the 29th. I am anxious for the Evo to drop, and while all the time it takes give me time to add to my "savings fund"...I can't help but wish that it was dropping tomorrow. Call me silly, but I am thinking this is just natural LOL =)

I actually like how that sounds. I think my windows mobile will DO whatever you click on while the screen is dimmed (not when the phone is off in standby), whereas my ipod touch requires an extra tap to "wake up" the screen before you can do anything.

But the best way to handle this is to just have it be configurable. Let the user set it how the user wants it to be.

Which gives Sprint and Evo a huge head start, but it's coming!

Also wanted to thank Bill and everyone who contributed all the awesome info and vids on the phone I can't wait to get my hands on!

Well since technically the new iphone for sprint and verizon will be a different cell phone, that still can be right.
