You only found out about the feature with the Droid when the docks came out. Who knows, maybe it will maybe it wont.

That feature was reported long before the docks had come out. The droid was shipped with the at home dock, which works on the same functionality as the car dock.

Edit: At least the original reviews had access to the Home dock (alarm clock)

Yes they do, but there are TONS of ways around that. I have it for free on my Dare. Have had it for a while now.

On a side note, hope you have requested your Google Voice One Number, it won't be an issue anymore when you have that.

Thought I read some place that Google Voice was charged against your minutes in your plan though. Is that correct?

Maybe its like the Droid. Putting it in the desktop cradle changes the mode to the desktop clock which might work in landscape mode.

I believe the Droid has a Magnetometer and that is how the docking stations function, through contact of magnets in a specific location on the dock that come into contact with those on the phone.

I don't ever recall hearing that the Incredible would have this feature. I'm sure you'll just have to manually enter into Car Mode and things of that nature as opposed to it automatically switching when placed into the doc.

the digital compass is a Magnetometer, so it is possible.

Actually, one of the slides said something about bluetooth keyboards ;)

He didn't talk about it though.
Yup, ur right.
I was sorta joking about the keyboard. I actually really like soft keyboards and wouldn't buy a phone with a physical keyboard. Thats why I didn't get the Droid and the Incredible sounds so good.

AFAIK, they didn't announce any new UI for notifications. Android handles them much better than the iPhone.

incoming and outgoing calls count against your minutes. there are ways around this though ;)

Think of it like this. If you had the USB port on the end, how would you use it in a car dock and charge it at the same time? Well you could but it would be more difficult as it is now the USB port would be facing down to make plugging in the USB charger easier.
But you can't make a really cheap dock with the usb port on the side. The Ridiculously Clever Dock

That's what I use at work for my HTC Fuze right now.

Do you really think it will come with a microSD card if it already has 8 GB of internal memory?

The UG says you have to have MicroSD installed to take pictures, FWIW. Ergo, if this is true, it will come with one. Again, the UG makes no reference to MoviNAND, which our benefactors assure is it has. So, I guess we just wait and see. :D

It is unless you have a Friends and Family plan and add the GV number to one of your ten numbers AND use the unofficial GV app to dial out through your Google Voice number (Verizon thinks you are calling your GV number and not the number that GV is routing to) AND have GV set up to display your GV number on incoming calls...

Zaggs -I am actually responding to the same post you are about the 8gb "vapor" rom.

Ahhh! The "manual" is wrong ;) Do any of you folks appreciate how expensive 8gb of rom is? N900 has 32gb, but only 1gb is fast rom and the rest is standard "class 2" level storage memory.

It would be great if the device had 8gb of rom- but the only chance is if it is actually built-in storage space (still better than nothing). People that believe this device has 8gb of rom space are the same eternal optimists that stood on the roof to greet the aliens in Independance Day ;)

Instead of a laser of doom, the cold reality of actually getting the device and not having the rom space will be the impact

Well people want to say the manual is wrong. Ok, then they need to provide something not from the testing phase to back it up.
But as it stands now the manual says the SD card is sold separately and makes no mention of Internal memory. Nothing about transferring files to internal memory. But they do constantly make reference to the "storage card". They left themselves no room for internal storage which is very weird if it made it into launch.

Except the manual tells you the memory card is not sold with the phone (its also not listed in the "in the box section") so its wait and hope to be more accurate.

I thought people were thinking the device had 8gb of media storage, but when I noticed they were saying rom space for apps- then it kind of got comical.

8gb "rom" was never correct, but I am pi55ed that the Incredible does not fave Flash Lite- just as the Desire ships with. No way it is in the Incredible, since the PDF does not show Adobe on the copyright page at the beginning of the manual.... That is unless the intern that put the manual together and "goofed" on the rom size also forgot to mention Flash ;)

Mega-lame.

could u post your additional documents concerning storage for all the naysayers?

sense 2.1 can play flash videos from the web. I do it now on my Eris.
