I can't wait for this phone to come out, so this thread can get shut down, so I can go back to my normal life ;)

I've been thinking about this, I don't know if I can return to normal life, I think I need to find another phone to spend all day and all night reading about. :D

In the year 2010 I am really curious why a FM radio is a benefit.

Mp3-4 player, plus loads of great internet radio apps with customization that are free and can be listened to 24/7....

...other than to maybe catch local sports & news, I cant imagine a need for a FM radio. (Inclement weather, maybe?)
I hear you, probably the last time I listened to FM was Howard Stern. I really prefer AM, but doubt that will happen with the interference and larger antenna, so the FM is nice....but I would have preferred a HDMI port !!

p.s. not trying to open a can of worms with this, since I did a few weeks ago already!!

I could care less about FM radio...Horrible music today, I wish SiriusXM would get an application out for Android, or someone would make one that works.

I've never seen a phone User Manual on 8.5 x 11 paper before. There has just been WAY too much crap out there for me to get excited over this. There's nothing I would like to believe more, but we just can't be sure.

There won't be a hard copy of the manual- manuals for all Android phones released so far are only available online..

Looking at the card 16gb card from the Droid, it has a 2 in a circle printed on it. Does that mean class 2? I guess if it is I need to invest in a class 6 for best use of the Incredible's camera?

only problem is that reputable makers like sandisk and Kingston don't make a class 6 16gb card yet. I have seen class 4 for 8 and 16 just not a class 6 yet.

I am sorry if this is a stupid question, and if it has been asked before...

I read the wiki article. I guess the benefit of a class 4 or 6 card for the Incredible would be less time to save a 8mp pic after taking a shot? Less time to pull up a folder of lots of 8mp pictures?

Long Time Lurker first time poster (you know the routine :))

Here is a comment I saw at Verizon Launching the HTC Incredible at End of April? | Android Phone Fans

"The Incredible will for sure launch on April 29th. I sent an email last night to Verizon Customer Service regarding the Incredible and here was the reply that I received early this morning:
“Good morning. My name is Jerry and I will be happy to assist you regarding the HTC Incredible. As you mentioned, this device is due to launch on April 29 th in the stores. At this time, we do not have any pricing.
As a reflection of my commitment to you, I attempted to contact you via telephone. i regret that I was unable to speak with you directly. I left a voicemail message as confirmation of my call.
I needed to verify the last four digits of the Social Security Number on your account. However, due to the content of your inquiry, I have responded in general terms.
Please continue to check our website at http://www.verizonwireless.com for more information.
Thank you again for your email regarding the HTC Incredible. We appreciate your business and thank you for being a valued Verizon Wireless customer.
Sincerely,
Jerry A.
Verizon Wireless
Customer Service”

I know we have pretty much confirmed Incredible will be coming out the 29th (or 25th) but it looks like Verizon is allowing their Customer Service Reps respond with a release date compared to "We dont know anything!" response we have been getting. Then again this might be a fake :( Either way thought I would share it :)

I believe so, my 8 gig I have has the same circle but with a 4 in it and I know it is a class 4 card

Photoshop, just like anything, the benefits outweight the bad, otherwise, they would do away with it....that's just how things work. There's plenty of scams on the internet, but we don't shut it down, because the internet is far more beneficial than detrimental.

Guess I am just to dumb and gullible.

I thought sporks came from KFC not Taco Bell

OT but KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut are owned by the same company.

. . . Hense the Spork at both. Meaning Taco Bell and KFC that would be weird to have a spork at Pizza Hut. ;)

I'm really sorry I'm usually much better about staying on topic but I couldn't help it and I have a headache from all the excitement from today.

I spoke to some friends of mine that work for BB Mobile today and they said that even though the phone it in the system to arrive on the 25th it sometimes arrives a few days later. They also said that as soon as they get it they can start selling it. Fyi... I'll try to get a pic of the spec sheet they have in their system tomorrow. I don't recall it saying anything groundbreaking although it did have 512 for RAM. Not a big deal either way. I for one will be at that store everyday when they open from the 25th on.

I believe so, my 8 gig I have has the same circle but with a 4 in it and I know it is a class 4 card

the circle with a number in it is the class. class determines the MINIMUM write speed of data to the card. class 2 writes at min. 16 Mbit/s (2 mbyte/s), comparable to 13x CDROM write speed, class 4 is 32 Mbit/s (4 mbyte/s), 26x CDROM write speed, and class 6 is 48 Mbit/s (6 mbyte/s), 40x CDROM write speed.

as far as an 8 MP camera taking pics and saving them to the card, the speeds will only make a barely noticeable difference considering the files will only be a few Mbs. but when youre actually putting files onto the card, say, from your computer that involve 100s of Mb or gigs (tons of data), the difference in speed will be very noticeable. its a matter of what youll be using it for.
Just remember the rating is for minimum speed, its not saying that it wont go faster, just guaranteeing it wont go any slower than the rating.

I'm tired of the waiting and inconvenience.

There is no doubt that Verizon has the best service out of all providers. No one can compete. Given the Nexus One, HTC Incredible, the rumored "Nexus 2" Motorola Shadow, and a possible iPhone; couple all of this with the service and it's a sealed deal. AT&T and Sprint will have no other choice but to develop phones that will keep their customers. However, sometimes I feel as though the actual customer appreciation element isn't recognized and has gotten worse over the years.

For as much as we're paying (and believe me, I'm starting to feel as though you need to be a celebrity to keep up with some of these bills), we should have outstanding customer service and appreciation, and giving us around-the-clock updates and notifications on new phones is one of those elements that need to be accounted for. It pisses me off more when we have all of this information in this thread, but VZW still rarely recognizes its existence. We got a few official nods on Twitter, but the overall VZW team is still acting as though its a top secret project. Its infuriating to say the least.

And with the state of their current phones you would assume they would get as much marketing and advertising going as possible. Besides the Droid and the Devour there's not much to be desired. They gave me an early two year upgrade and I took the Devour (I've never been that impressed with the Droid mainly due to the QWERTY keyboard having as much use as a car with no tires). I'm taking it back sometime next week (or the week after) in hopes that the Incredible is launching by the end of the month. I was going to go with the Nexus One, but I'm beyond fet up with waiting for Google to get it together, and with how things are going with the Incredible I'm not going through this multi-month bait-and-wait game again.

AT&T almost had me until the woman at the register said it was an $800 security deposit. Verizon should thank them for that because I'm still here.

Just found these on a blog.

It really isn't so much lack of appreciation or care for the customer as much as it is a cell phone corporation trying to sell phones. From Verizon's point of view, new phones are releasing nearly every time they turn their head. with this in mind, everyone is waiting for a new phone. so, lets say the incredible and nexus one are released at the end of the month. tons of people are waiting for it and both have been announced/confirmed. but then, days before the release, an announcement is made that another great device will be released in a month and a half that just barely scrapes past either of the first 2 phones. people have been waiting a couple months already, whats 1 more? while at the same time, theyre trying to move current stock thats about to be outdated just months after being released.
currently the cell phone business is moving faster than consumers and sometimes even corporations can keep up with. for Verizon its obviously about trying to get the most out of their current stock. if they announced every one of the next latest and greatest devices, consumers would be willing to hold off and get that instead of whats available now, losing verizon tons of $.
Verizon cares about its customers, but companies still have to look out for their own.

That was in the User Guide, like the 206 page user guide that was posted here earlier today...

That was a very thoughtful response. That really helps me understand. Thank you.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Exactly.. It's just good business sense. They didn't get to be the #1 provider by being stupid. Sure I'd like for them to spill and give us all of the info but they have never lied to us and if a rep says that a phone isn't coming it's probably because he is stupid, not that he is lying.
