Sure enough! On an LG Motion: System Settings/About phone/Status/PRL Version (may have to scroll down to see it). Thank you so much, gbiggie!

I know what it is, but wasn't fully clear how to update it from the instructions in the pinned thread. (Short bus here?) I saw the #228 part in the pinned thread and dialed that and it asked if I wanted to download the latest list. Then's when I got skeered of not knowing what I was doing and punched out of the call. :D

I immediately FREEKED! as I went to EV from 4G. I figured I'd hosed something up as it said activation not completed and I know I am. I rebooted the phone and 4G back, dropped to EV for a couple seconds then went back to 4G where it is now. I guess all that was just normal fluctuation from my 1-2 bars of 4G?

Can I update the PRL just from the phone at *228 or do I have to download the PRL thinggummer from somewhere else? I do appear to have an out of date one as it's 3029.

Exactly how do I do this please? :confused: Type slowly please. :p

You can update to the latest prl by dialing *228 just choose option 5 and let it do its thing and when it's done just reboot your phone you can also manually update the prl too by using qpts or something similar
 
I should be able to do that without flyin' the thing into the mountain and killing everyone on it. ;)

Yeah just do *228 and let it do its thing. It can be done manually with QPST (see the threads in the Motion forum), but considering what you've just been through I don't think you want to mess with that.
 
If you ever find that after you update the current PRL, your phone maybe slowed down compared to the previous PRL, there is a couple ways to revert back or install any PRL that you choose. Maybe you knew this but just thought I would throw it out there. :D

Yep this is where QPST comes in. No way to revert to an earlier PRL through Metro, you have to do it yourself.
 
I updated my Motion to 3032 and thankfully the Signal seems much stronger and more stable. I am more constantly in the 4 Mps area than the 1-2 Mps before. I've been to one of the "power alleys" in town where it was pegging 4 bars (instead of the 1-2 bars here) and was just getting into the 5 Mps area there so I'm much happier being in the 4's here.

keep in mind this was made for the metro gs3 and was designed to allow us to roam on sprint's evdo. with that being said it may or may not work for your phone. my source told me he had a hard time making it stick to his gs3. goodluck and enjoy experimenting! :D

i suppose now your roaming on sprint's evdo now haha mind stating which phone your using?
 
I tried out 9033 on the 3g Admire just for the hell of it. On 3032, average speeds were about 2.20 Mbs. On 9033, I was all over the place. Jumping up to 2.27, falling to 0.97 and everywhere in between.

It hasn't been officially released yet, so I don't think it is the final version of 9033, is it n4zty???
 
DL Speeds are 0.05MB/s on this new PRL on the original Admire. :( Before on 3032 it was about 0.20MB/s down...

Anyone know how to flash a PRL to the Motion? QPST won't detect the Motion...

Same here. I averaged 0.27 MB/s on 3032 and 0.15 MB/s on 9033
 
Well, this PRL killed my Motion's 4G speeds... I'm getting 0.02MB/s Down and 0.05MB/s Up... Going back to 3032...
 
Lol like I said this was for the gs3 it hasnt been released yet was made to allow gs3 user to be able to roam on sprints evdo. Some people had some success some didnt. Also like was said in previous post above this isnt final version seems like they had some issues with sprints towers in some areas so they working on improving things.
