I've pretty much have come to terms to needing to charge this phone everyday. It'll be worth it. In my experience, animated wall-papers saved to an external card can really put a hurtin on battery life.

Verizon typically launches their new phones a week or two after third party retailers launch it. Occasionally they might be a few days behind or launch at the same time, but they won't be launching it before them. That's just how Verizon does things.

Hey Morning everyone (well I guess almost afternoon now lol)

It's pretty sweet we received the user manual and other stuff (thanks to all of those involved!).

I think this is on topic and will pertain to the incredible...

I know some people have been talking about the battery life (146 hours standby?)... Ouch, but I think we can all take steps to improve the battery life. 1 thing I have been talking to NKT about is the battery and APPs came up..

I have never owned a smartphone so I don't know what APPs kill the battery. I will work on a "Battery saving post" if people would be kind enough to PM me their own tips, BUT more IMPORTANTLY the APPs that kill battery life. Pretty much popular, basic APPs that most of us will download.

I'd like to help us all out as much as possible. I am anal when it comes to battery life, so I am hoping to have my incredible dialed in. Thanks in advance for any help with this!

I second this "Incredible Battery Thread!" Excellent idea! I'll be brand new to smartphones too, and that was the single biggest deterent that kept me from jumping on the Eris bandwagon - the horror stories of its battery life! (Well that, and it's an inferior phone all the way around....) I'd contribute in any way I can in getting the most from our Incredible batteries! Nice idea, Kappy!

Ugh.... wut?

Ok, I'm sold....Been holding out getting a new phone for a month now and this will be my new phone....I think think this will be the best phone on the market upon release..Only one question remaining...Will it have a Micro SD Card with it? I'm selling my Ipod Touch and need somewhere new to put my music, Anybody help....

I haven't seen any info that would lead me to believe it comes with a microSD card. I think this is due to the 8gb built into the phone.

If you need more storage, just pickup a 16gb card. They're coming down in price.

I noticed this too but just wrote it off (pg.17):

Storage card
Store your pictures, music, and applications in the microSD card (sold separately).
Inserting the

Some apps allow main data installation to the media storage. Biggest app storage to date will be the Android version of the newer refresh of the HD2. It has 1gb, so after all of the pre-installed apps for the OS and Sprint are netted out, there will probably be 700 to 800mb free for apps. Even though the OS is not on the storage, Google maps, browser, Sense, etc, are on the app storage, just like current Android devices.

I live off of 315 near Henderson. Theres a VZW store close to Henderson and High, is that you?

In my opinion you should be more careful about the amount of personal information you put on the web. Just my time in Info Assurance speaking I guess. Take it or leave it.

Lemme just say this.....any info that has been posted on the internet is probably almost always from here.... and that makes me proud of my little Incredible Anonymous monsters here....hehe....we will probably make an announcement before verizon does..... Berryscoop will be all "Android Forums Announces Htc Incredible, Verizon follows 20 mins after"

I just heard that the vzw employee's who received this email this week got ANOTHER email today saying they will be getting more info on Monday.

You sure about that? I remember several phone releases where the only place you could buy one was online or telesales, then they released to stores later. I am hoping this happens with the Incredible.

In preparation for my new INCREDIBLE phone, I'm looking for someone to donate a google voice invite to me. Anyone have one to spare? Pretty please??

Also, anyone else from the Tallahassee area? Just curious who I am going to be waiting with in line on release date

Until the 16 & 32 GB Micro SD cards start coming down in price, I'm just going to transfer my 8gb Class 6 card over from my current phone. 8gb built-in plus an 8gb card should be fine.

Will the browser on the phone support HTML5 pages? Since the web is moving in that direction, it would be nice to have a mobile browser that does.

Ok, so i've now found out from independent sources that there is, as reported, 8 GB internal storage, which, when paired with a microSD card show up as two independent drives when mounted (attached via USB) to a PC.

Hope this clarifies, and ends, the debate on whether there is or isn't 8 GB of internal storage. There is! It's not the SD card inserted! It's not in the SD card in the phone so that's why it's 8 GB and not shown as shipping with a card! etc, etc...

8GB of internal, non-SD-card-related, storage!

The only experience I'm gleening from is a lengthy conversation I had with someone who works at verizon. She seemed pretty sure about what she was saying. Having said that, I know quite well that it's possible to be very sure of something and be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised to see it play out as I have described, though.

Can someone who's used the Incredible comment on how well the soft keyboard works?

I've typed on a Nexus One several times. One of the things I didn't like is that they soft buttons under the screen were so close to the space bar on the keyboard, that sometimes I'll hit a soft button when I'm trying to hit the spacebar. I'll be typing away and suddenly be back at the home screen or backed out of what I was trying to do. It is very annoying.

Users have reported issues with the Nexus One soft buttons being hard to register and that you have to press on the high side of the button (even closer to the keyboard).

Any comments from folks who's been able to actually use the Incredible would be incredibly helpful :)

In my four year in wireless I never saw a phone release on a Sunday in a corporate store. The 25th is a Sunday.

If indeed the device launches earlier in corp stores than at agents like BB, I would place my money on Thursday the 22nd. VZW likes to release & launch on Thursdays.

Of course, the 29th is a Thursday, so the device may launch the same day at corporate as BB. Still an open question I believe, maybe today will bring us new info.

The Blackberry Tour 9630 launched on a Sunday at VZW.

But that too is the only phone I can remember in a long long time.

July 12, 2009. I know that, because I was standing in line eagerly awaiting to trade in my poor 8330. The longest I had ever used a single phone at just over 2 years.
