most things are possible, and some things are strange. This one is both. My phone will not connect to adb without media transfer and it sounds like yours won't connect without charge only. Maybe this bit should be added to the OP to avoid confusion.

that would be the best thing, ill put a word in to the author see if they can squeeze it in there

k message sent, hopfully itll be added in soon, but untill then just refer people to my guide i wrote that should solve most issues with connectivity

I have tried (what feels like) everything. I really appreciate the help! Maybe there will be an easier method for a mac user in the near future!

OH YEA, mac user... duh. sorry i forgot, ive been working on too many things i guess. according to someone on my other thread though
http://androidforums.com/warp-sequent-all-things-root/670346-updated-root-scripts-mac-linux.html
the script works if you manually copy and paste each line, not sure why it gives problems as a script
as far as the issues with not seeing devices though, youll have to find a way to remove it from the rules file if its like linux which im assuming it is since their both linux based, and then plug it back in
basically you have to uninstall the device from the system, then it should fix your drivers

personally tho my vote still goes for installing windows lol
i think i fixed the script tho just let me upload it...

k my linux and mac scripts should be fixed now, as far as device recognition tho i have no clue, if you can figure out how to uninstall the driver that might fix the problem

I finally figured out my problem. Hope this doesn't disclose my ignorance, but I was unzipping the DoomLoord script and running it...I needed to unzip it to the file where my SDK/ABD folder on the C drive. ANyhow I appreciate all the hard work you guys put in so clueless tag-a-longs like me can enjoy having a rooted phone too! ROOT ROOT ROOT!

actually you just gotta unzip the folder along with it... it has nothing to do with adb all the adb components are in the folder that comes with the script

okay im on a computer have the zip downloaded phone connected usb debugging on turned phone on charge only so from here ii moved the adb and 2dll filles into program files but when i type in the prompt adb devices it says adb isnt recognized as a internal or external command any help pleases

Idk because I moved it there and just ran the root script it didn't root it though I got some error and the phone didn't reboot so was the only thing that needed to be in windows the adb.exe everything else in the zip can be left in the downloads folder?

And the weird thing is I downloaded the superuser.apk to see if I had to manually install it and I have su binaries and other things but it asked me to update the binaries I tried got somewhere but once I got to the asking for permission step it just sat there so I exited out downloaded root checker and I'm not rooted

moving the file to windows is a more advanced technique, its for if you want to double check your connection, or if you want to run commands in the future, like i do constantly, without having to know where to find adb, if you put adb and the two dll files it comes with into C:\windows it will be added into your list of commands, putting it in program files does nothing, and if you are just trying to root, dont move anything, just unzip the file you downloaded to somewhere on your computer, make sure the "files" folder is there with the runme file, then run it

if you completely unzip the whole thing, and dont do anything else but double click the runme file it should just work as long as the phone drivers are installed, usb debugging is on, and the phone is plugged in

dont move the adb or anything, just leave it in the files folder, and run the runme.bat file
you havent managed to get it working yet?

I'll try again today and okay thanks ill try that

this is all so confusing to me. i did all the steps.
drivers are good. phone went through the whole doomlord root process. it has rom manager. and it is flashed to cwm from rom manager. but im still not getting the right cwm! i still have he stock one with the lil android dude and the blue orb in his chest.. please help me!!!

Somebody needs to get all the drivers we have posted relating to this phone and make it a sticky. Them dang drivers whichever one somebody new needs is always in a few different post it would be much easier to put them all in one place. For future helping people out. Make sense?
