I guess I am a bit jealous. I have to come clean. I took it th the therapist. He said it was normal to be jealous and that I shouldn't feel guilty over it, but I should use that energy to try harder next time. Thank you for understanding! ;) :p

Once we get used to how fast this phone is, any delay will stick out like a sore thumb. :)

I believe class 6 is 3x faster than class 2. There's a good chance you'd notice it.

Okay incredible people. I went to my local Verizon store today and Fedex was there. They had pulled a half pallet of boxes to the back door and was unloading them. There was another half pallet on the truck with a redish/pinkish plastic shrink wrapped around them. Probably for another store. The boxes were not very big.

I then went in the store and there was several workers there today. The front entrance has a worker greeting you when you come in. She asked me if I was looking for a phone and I said sure. I pulled out the equipment guide with HTC Incredible ADR 6300 on it. She said that she had not heard of it and the Gentleman working next to her said that one is coming out this month. I went over where the Eris was the other day and they have moved it from their main feature section. I started counting the workers and they had 16 today and the most I ever see in there is 6.

While playing with the Eris the lady that waited on me headed over to the manager and said I had equipment sheet for the Incredible and the manager told her that is the HTC phone. Then two other workers joined in on the computer they was at. The one worker Bo knows me and they started whispering stuff that I couldn't make out. They looked something up and seemed like they got nervous and would not look or talk to me after that. You thought I had a virus. Verizon must have them all scared. All I can say is it was a weird feeling I had but I was excited as H*ll from the way they was acting.

Below is photo from Fedex truck today taken at 2:07PM. Pixie06 on this forum can confirm this is the Verzion store because we are from the same town.

True! And 16 at our store is odd...

What would you say if I told you that the lock on the back door of that particular VZW doesn't work properly (or at least it didn't not too long ago).

In regards to the thread, it's deceleration can be attributed to the same info spinning around. It will pick up when concrete info is released (leaked or confirmed). Monday will be a major letdown for those expecting an Incredible presser.

BTW, if reports are that the 8gb built in and memory comes up as two drives, the 8gb is not app memory. The Android savvy here should know app space does not list as a drive. One of the sources reporting info needs to open up the storage info and see what the app space is. Probably about 250mb free (like Droid, though perhaps less space, due to 2.1).

Personally, I don't think that you can write off the 8gb built in memory even if/though it comes up as two drives. First of all, it seems like it might be a way that HTC is addressing the issue of app storage until Google sorts out the DRM issues, so from that standpoint, it makes sense. I can't imagine it was easier/cheaper for them to use the 8gb built in memory vs just throwing in an 8gb sdhc card like on the Eris so there must be a good reason.

Secondly, there are the issues about the Linux filesystem that I could see them leveraging. It's very good about strict permissions and hiding folders. So I could see a dedicated hidden folder that only had permission to write from the device and no ability to copy from it. You may have used Linux a lot, I have no way of knowing your experience with it but I can tell you from experience on my computer, if you try to copy files/folders from a protected folder, it will fail and not allow it. And I'm certainly no expert or programmer. I could definitely see possibilities with them allowing apps to be installed on it, despite it showing up as a drive.

That's JMHO and certainly not a "professional" one.

What I'm saying is if you store all the data that the OS accesses regularly like contact info, ringtones, wallpapers, etc. on the internal memory, this will kill of all the stutter/delay caused by accessing the Class 2 mem card. Listening to music and watching movies on the Incredible is only gonna cause minute stutters at the initial load of the media, and won't be worth the extra money IMO.

I appreciate your undercover work, but 16 workers?? That sounds a bit off.
 
So let me get this straight, people on this forum think the Incredible might be released on Monday? What happened to the "leaked" VZW info that pointed to an April 29 release? Yet more BS?
 
After an unimpressive visit to Best Buy this morning I went over to the Verizon store. At Best Buy I was told he didn't know about the Incredible but that new phones usually come out in June. Huh? At the Verizon store the manager told me he didn't know about the Incredible and that they had a big meeting this morning and "the rep" didn't mention it.

After dinner tonight my husband did take me back over to the Verizon store. He did give me fair warning that if I get banned from the Verizon store one of us needs to be able to still shop there. So, he walked away from me as soon as we walked in. Ha.

I played on an Eris for a little while then walked over to the evening manager. She asked if she could help me. I told her I am ready for a new phone but that I am waiting for the Incredible. She definitely got flustered with her words. I knew she knew more than she was saying. She did admit that "the rep" this morning did indeed talk about the Incredible but that they don't have a firm release date. She said it could be 3 months. But I don't believe her. (Heck, the morning manager lied flat out and told me he was going to have to go home and look it up on the internet tonight...) She was talking about the processor and how they had never heard of it before "the rep" talked about it. I said, "snapdragon." And, she said, "YES!" She was very excited. Then she mentioned the optical joystick with equal enthusiasm. She is clearly excited about the phone. I don't know that she knows more about the phone than I do from coming here. She said she saw it this morning. When I asked her if she saw the actual phone she stumbled and said they only saw information on the computer. Again, not sure that I believe she only saw it on the computer.

When I asked her about the Microsoft announcement for Monday she seemed much less excited and seemed to think it wasn't so much about the phones being released but about the upgrade in the MS OS. She said something like, "they are running 6 now and they will upgrade to 7."

As I left, I told her I would see her soon. I guess she will if she works on Monday :D

I think most of us think the MS "pretty in pink" phones will come out Monday and the Incredible announced later in the week

The original photo, although it looks photoshopped (because it was, but more than likely by VZW themselves) was confirmed independently by several different sources. Anonimac had his sources here, and a few of the blog sites that check sources instead of regurgitating information in their blogs and on twitter, also confirmed the picture with the box "Top Secret Codename: 6"

The hole that it has broken through is identical from one picture to the next...the only difference is the size of the blast on the right, and the placement of the box-corner.

However...I think that is only important if the messages weren't in fact confirmed by several different people as being authentic...and just the way he/she received it.

I had assumed they were both "real", but I guess my question now is why is the box on the "Journey" image completely different than the box on the "Code 6" image? It's clearly 100% a different box (or is the 2nd box even confirmed to be a box at all?), not just placed differently.

Looking at the 2nd picture again, I *wonder* if it's a picture of the box blown open w/ something shown inside of the box?

From everything that I gather, it appears as though Best Buy will have this phone for sale in-store sometime between the 25th and 29th. The 800lb gorilla in the room is when will Verizon have it for sale? So unless it'll be a Best Buy exclusive for a period of time (like the Devour was), then VZW should have the Incredible for sale sooner than Best Buy (emphasis on "SHOULD"). Just my $.03, though.
