It's hard out here fo' a pimp! ;)

Question: By all indications the phone is going to release for $599 retail. If this is the case, what are you guys' thoughts on subsidized pricing. I know the $199 price point has been tossed around, but for some reason I just don't see it happening. I HOPE I AM WRONG. I would be elated if it released for $199. So do any of you guys know of other phones that VZW has released in the past that have retailed for $599 and know what the subsidized price was at release. Maybe that would shed some light on what the price will be.

been lurking for a while, month ago posted some old info and and was flamed deservingly and then someone banned me by using the OTBC tool taking out my 2 earlier posts.

Believe the following or not your choice. Not really any new info., but this is what I was told firsthand. Leaving names out to protect the innocent.

I was in a Verizon Corporate data center within the last 2 weeks.
Was invited to a seminar for business customers.
Asked about the Incredible and one of the Data guys started unlocking cabinets looking for it. Loved the phone but he asked another guy who said it was checked out.
They had 1 incredible to test but it was out of the office.
The data centers at Verizon have now had the Incredible for 3 1/2 weeks testing them.
The data guy loved the phone .
Because the Incredible was checked out he offered to show me some of the other new phone they were testing. He said they had 2 new LG, I didn

I believe the Moto DROID was $599 unsubsidized and came in at $299 - $100 MIR = $199

According to the HTC Sync download site, Sync will work on the following OS's

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
Windows XP Professional Edition Service Pack 2
Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition

So it looks like if you have a Mac, it won't work - hopefully it will work with Parallels (or similar).

No windows 7 64bit, what the f is wrong with companies these days.

I've got my ZUNE HD 32gb auction starting on ebay tonight. Hopefully I can get enough for it to cover most of the purchase price for the incredible.

I've been unable to login to my VZW account for a few weeks now because I couldn't remember the password. I tried a few times this morning and locked the account out. I got a pop-up window to chat with a VZW rep, so I did. She walked me through the process of resetting my password so could I log in. Then, I hinted about wanting to get the Incredible for my upgrade and below is the chat log that I copied. I changed the names though.

VZW rep: Great! You are logged in.
VZW rep: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again. Have a great day!
Me: one more thing...
Me: I know I'm in my upgrade window and I've heard great things about the ADR6300 (HTC Incredible). I've also heard rumors that it's coming out at the end of this month. I realize you can't give me much information on this, but would it be worth my while to hold off on upgrading for a bit longer if I was interested in this phone?
VZW rep: It would be best to hold off for the upgrade. You can contact Data Support at 1-800-922-0204 option 3 for assistance with the phones.
Me: Thanks a lot. I appreciate the help.

Me: You too.

I guess the important thing to take away from this is that she didn't come back with one of those "we don't have this phone" or "we can't talk about phones until they are officially released" canned responses. It seems that she answered my question without really revealing too much.

yep there sure are. I also have a motorola blue tooth device that clips on my sun-visor - it transmits to my car stereo or has it's own speaker- was around $100 bucks but I think it's cheaper now
This also works for my Itouch so no need for two devices for different connections

Edit: here is a link for it- very nice little gadget Motorola MOTOROKR T505 - speaker phone

My store has had these from time to time- check out your local store if interested :)

Full Retail on the Droid has been 559.99 since launch last year and the after rebate price has been 199.99. We've had other smartphones at 599.99 retail that sell for 199.99 after rebate. The Palm Pre Plus is currently selling for 49.99 from a full retail price of 599.99 but thats an unusually large subsidy as part of a special promotion.

I don't recall us selling any mainstream smartphone for over 199.99 post rebate in the last couple years. So my best guess is the Incredible will be 599.99 retail dropping to 299.99 with a 100.00 MIR leaving 199.99. Of course this is at direct stores, indirect stores can set their own pricing.

My NE2 was up in Feb. so I called Verizon last night to complain about their pricing plans compared to Sprint and other companies. I told the supervisor that my daughter and her husband just left Verizon last month for AT&T as he wanted the iphone. He has been happy with AT&T and told me I should change. I then asked about the Incredible and he played DUMB saying he didn't know about that phone. He then told me he would credit my account for 1 month of service if I renewed my contract now. I told him I wanted to wait until the end of the month (for the Incredible) and he told me he would document my account and carry his offer till May 10th.

I gues the free month will help pay for the Incredible!

so if i'm buying this phone online.... what do i have to do to get it up and running, activated, able to use on the network, put my contacts from my old phone on it, etc..

i never bought a phone online

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker for about a month now. I had an Eris for 2 wks in early March but decided to take it back and wait for the Incredible. Figured since it was going eol it would never get any Android updates...besides the Incredible specs are sooooo much better! Anyway, I just found the UG last nite; I was afk all day Thurs and Fri of all days! Never posted before cuz I don't have any insider info or contacts. The UG brought me out of hiding. Thanks to everyone for all the great info on this thread!

btw nunyabizness, I am also female. I am the techie gadget person in our house, my husband couldn't care less. Can't wait for the Incredible!

just power it up and follow instructions...it takes about 2 minutes to be up and running. As compared to the 2 hours it usually takes a brick and mortar store.

I have bought a few online from Verizon, very easy to activate...just follow the directions - also, today, just downloaded and set up verizon's "backup assistant" - so now everything is online.....should be an easy swap to the INC - btw -I used to buy phones at the V stores just to have them transfer contacts...now I don't need them at all!
