Root NexTheme ESE81 R3 Release (4/21/10) - New Goodies!

It is part of Beautiful Widgets... it is a paid app available on the market.

Thanks a lot for the info. I've got the widget now and it's awesome, but none of the clock fonts are like the one in fabs pic. Is there somewhere else I can get that skin or something? I don't see it in the market.

Thanks again!

You can get more skins for Beautiful Widgets by tapping the forecast, then menu, then skins.

The one in my screenshot is 'AirportOne'

@toker11, yeah I'm in Champaign. I'm a student at the University.

Hey guys,
I just got my Droid today, and thought this would be a cool thing to try out first. However, I don't know how exactly to do it. Is there a video or a site that explains how to do this step by step?

I would follow the rooting guide sticked to the top of this forum.

Once you have SPRecovery installed, you can just follow the instructions in the first post on how to install.

There are also very easy alternatives to getting rooted and a custom recovery, such as:

DroidMod Updater released - DroidMod

Ok Fabolous.... been reading a while, on Droidmod, convinced by you to take the plunge and change....

Wish me luck... here goes....

Alright, so I've been using the Nextheme for a day now and the battery life is amazing. I took it off the charger this morning and just had 2 calls, both over 30 min and I'm holding strong at 90%!! With my Eris I would have been at about 75%. I'm one of those people who try out every new ROM that comes out(except Ultimate Droid), but I think I'm going to be using this one for a while.

Ok.... i need some help please....

Using SPRecovery. Followed directions in the OP. Gettting this message...

E:Can't open/ sdcard/update.zip
(No such file or directory)
Installation aborted.

Are you using windows to rename the file? You may not need to rename it to update.zip, but rather update, since Windows automatically adds the .zip (by default). So it can't find the file if it's named update.zip.zip

is this version on rom manager already?

No, it's not on ROM manager. You'll have to download it from my mediafire link.

I used Astro to change the name and when I went back I realized I left a space in the name... duh!

Thank you so much for the reply!! It's up and running and I'm off to check out the goodness... (This is my first time off Droidmod.)

what is the Ringer Delay Tweak?

I think it is a change from the OEM setting of a 3sec delay to a 1sec delay.. a phone would receive a call but delay 3 Sec before the ring starts. I believe the new setting is 1 Sec.

Also Fab, does this have the WiFi change too, To save the Battery (60 sec instead of 15)?

Only issue with Helix is if using bettercut you need to go to the original launcher and create a custom icon, then switch back. No big problem (once I figured it out). Chevy's low voltage 1000 is running great. I will play with the 1200 when I get home from work.

How do I get back to the original launcher to use bettercut once Helix is set as the default?

Thanks.....

You can go to settings, applications, manage, filter, all, helixlauncher, and clear defaults.

there's also an app in the market that does it, but I don't know the name.

I think by default it is still 15.
I believe you can edit it in the /system/build.prop file however. At least thats where I edited mine and changed it to 60.
But be careful editing info. in that file. Only change stuff you COMPLETELY know what it will do!

yep I checked it is still 15.. but there are odd ASCII characters, I wonder what Fabolous used to end it..
