You're welcome! Yeah, MetroPCS tends to load a bunch of nonsense, especially myMetro and MetroPCS Easy Wifi.

Mymetro I don't mind because I can keep track of my account but the Metropcs easy wifi I can't stand along with all the Google play music books and magazines and movies crap just more shit I don't need using up all my ram. And thank again. Any news on the cm10 port thingy?

We need CWM or TWRP for you guys first :p

I've been working on it this week under limited windows of opportunity. I'll try to devote more time on getting CWM ported by this weekend.
Don't stress yourself :) once we have a stable CWM released i will gather information and build a comprehensive AIO Guide for this forum and have my friends in high places make it a perminant sticky for the Avid forums =)
for an example of what the guide may look like check this out:
http://androidforums.com/transform-...ransform-ultra-all-in-one-root-mod-guide.html

ofcourse when it is published i will take any feedback or ideas and incorporate it into the guide.
(rom updates and methods etc.)

Why do the instructions include the command prompt? can't you just right click > run as admin in vista/7/8? I was too chickenshit to try but a couple people were having trouble with that step. Would that be a good way to run the script?

Thanks for the root

Had to run cmd as administrator and hold volume down till it rebooted a second time, anyways thanks and is there anything i gotta do to get barnacle to work or is that impossible right now

Anybody know about an unbrick guide because I'm about to get the avid in like three days and if yall have one ill gladly test stuff....:D

I don't think you guys will be able to unbrick. I believe its like the Admire, once your bricked, your bricked.... Except you guys don't have Odin....

Yes and no....

Some Samsung phones can go into download mode/Odin when bricked though a jig, but that only works like 20% of the time. Jigs are useless on non Samsung phones.

The "unbrick" guides are for soft bricks, example; bootloops, wiping /system clean, flashing something via CWM thats not for your phone, etc, etc. Things like that are soft bricks. The term "brick" means there is no life, no bootloop, no lights, its just dead.

It being that your boot.img is replacing any kind of custom recover with the stock recovery makes me think you guys have a locked bootloader, which means you *may* be able to get a "unbrick" guide. That is, if you guys even have a kind of download mode. If you guys do have a download mode, then we need to hunt for a ZTE store flashing tool, or some other tool like that, then a stock system.img/boot.img/etc/etc.

i have an zte avid,to root,i jus hookup to pc,download, and follow prompts?do i need anything else?i am like really green at this obviously.any help will b appreciated.ty

I have the Avid 4G from MetroPCS and this worked flawlessly. Simply plugged it in on FTM to install the drivers, rebooted the computer, and it worked on the first try. Big thanks for getting this together!

This should be a fairly straightforward process with minimal risk of bricking your device, however, I am definitely not responsible for any damages incurred during this procedure.

Prerequisites: ZTE device drivers for USB. (Connect your phone via the USB cable and choose the "Install Driver" connection type from your device).

1: Boot phone into FTM (hold the Volume Down key and power on device).
2: Connect USB cable to your computer.
3: Download View attachment 47664 and unzip.
4: Open a command prompt (Start+R) type "command".
5: From the command line, cd into the newly created directory and type root
6: While the phone reboots, be sure to hold the "Volume Down" button to boot back into FTM. If it begins to boot normally, pull the USB cable and power phone down to reattempt booting into FTM. Once you're back in FTM, plug the USB cable back in and the script should resume the process.
7: Once it's finished, let the phone boot into normal mode and verify root access. I used "Root Checker Basic".

Enjoy!

hey my phone will not go into ftm mode it just takes screen shots... also how or where do i extract the files to because i had my phone plugged into the computer with the (installdriver) chosen and it will not let me extract the files to my phone
