Going by the battery life suggested in the specs, I sure hope that isn't at the clocked down speed. That really puts the N1 at a greater advantage.
As for cutting out texting plans and using GV, I assume then that essentially it requires to use the GV number for all texts, which in turn could be trouble for some if they have a high number of contacts. It's essentially a phone number change if you don't actively use your GV number now.
I only use my GV number for people I don't really want to have my digits. IE: Beer Goggles.
