Going by the battery life suggested in the specs, I sure hope that isn't at the clocked down speed. That really puts the N1 at a greater advantage.


As for cutting out texting plans and using GV, I assume then that essentially it requires to use the GV number for all texts, which in turn could be trouble for some if they have a high number of contacts. It's essentially a phone number change if you don't actively use your GV number now.

I only use my GV number for people I don't really want to have my digits. IE: Beer Goggles.

This is a bit OT (don't act so shocked! ) I've just made plans to be in California to visit my sister in LA. So, I'm sorry to say that the week after next, which is the week before the debut of the Incredible, I'll be online a lot less. I know there are about 3 or 4 people who are singing Hallelujah, about now!


Speaking of my sister, remember she bought a Tour yesterday, well she'd thinking about the Incredible when it comes out, returning her Tour. I hope she does.

Just thinking outside of the proverbial BOX! I think Montana would be great. Lot's to do. Ski, mountain biking, and lot's of cool places in Whitefish to get sloppy drunk and take party pics with our new 8 megapixel Incredible cams.

Just curious...how many of us here are female? I am the only person I know "in real life" that is a total tech-gadget freak. IIRC, it seems like there are around 5 of us here.

And to keep the OT police away, I'm now vaccillating on getting the Incredible or keeping my Eris. I installed the 2.1 leak last night, and now that I'm reading about class 6 microSD cards possibly helping the phone's responsiveness, I may just hold onto the Eris until LTE launches. But then again if I can't stay away from AF after the Inc's release, I'm sure jealousy will get the best of me.

Confirmed HTC Incredible Release Date at Verizon (4/19 or 5/13)?

I was in my local Verizon store an hour ago, the manager told me they are getting 6 new phones this month (April) the Incredible is included in the 6.

Folks, i've been contacted by someone who is a long time friend of our thread and forum with a theory regarding the reported (and doubted) 8 GB moviNAND internal storage on the Incredible. He decided to put together a brief 1-pager explaining his theory and it happens to be the same theory i've had all along so i'm posting it for further consumption by others.

I'll post his ppt (converted to pdf for uploading), but in summary the theory is:
1 GB of app storage (locked from users)
6-7 GB of other internal storage for storing music, movies, etc... (seen a discrete drive when mounted via USB)
And of course your MicroSDHC card (which would be another discrete drive when mounted via USB)

This theory is also supported by another source who tells me the internal storage and MicroSDHC are seen as different drives when mounted.

As far as I know there isn't any sirus/xm app available today. I think it has something to do with the stream they use. You may be able to do it with flash lite but I'm not sure. I think there will be one available in the future but hey atleast we are getting Netflix sometime this year.

I think people are throwing around the word "confirmed" pretty loosely these days. Just because someone left a comment and claimed to be a Verizon employee doesn't mean it's "confirmed."

From the article:

Seems to be a pretty weak claim to me.

I trust our sources much more than a VZW store employee who doesn't even claim to have specific knowledge of the release date for the Incredible, or whatever/whoever the source of the article is supposed to be. Heck, even the author of the article isn't quite sure what the qualifications of his source are.

Just squint your eyes and you'll see our avatars are different. His is Nash's render with the Verizon logo up top and the HTC logo on the bottom right. Mine still has the HTC up top from an earlier render. COMPLETELY different avatars...

hey, just a quick heads up.

i was telling a friend of mine at work about the incredible and he asked to see pics, so i googled some. as soon as i clicked the first one, i got a ton of popups and attacks, .exe files trying to download automatically. i had to kill the firefox process and restart in safe mode since it was remembering my tabs.

hopefully google gets their links cleaned up soon, but i figured i'd let y'all know in the meantime.

on the plus side, it means this phone is so hot that people are designing attacks around it.
