***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I was counting about 8 or 9.
I played around with the Eris while we were waiting to be helped but it just wasn't tempting me enough.
on a side note though I did leave the Evergreen thread up on the phone when I got done playing around with it ;):D

Count me as one. I have to move from Spint to Verizon. At work we moved from a building where I could not get a voice connection, but I had great data connection to a build where I get NO voice and data connection. In the new building Verizon and AT&T get good to great voice AND data connection.

I CANNOT be at work without data connection and I don't like AT&T. I currently have the Hero and the Incredible will be a step up.

My plan on Sprint is the 450 Everything plan for $69.99 + TEP insurance for $7.00 for a total of $85 (with taxes and fees). I thank I will be paying about $20.00 more on Verizon, that's ok with me to have a data connection at work.

The plan I'm planning on getting is the $59.99 Voice and Text + $29.99 data + $9? insurance.

Could someone with this combination of plans tell me the total monthly cost and that is will cover unlimited texting and data ON THE PHONE ONLY. Navigation is free because of Google Nav. All my family and friends are on Verizon so my calls to them will be free.

This should cover everything I get from Sprint except for a new phone every year at new user price.:D:(

Edit: Do I get a discount on my montly bill If I combine my land line phone bill and wireless phone bill on one statement?

My Incredible story for the weekend goes something like....

So, I walked into the VZW Corporate store in my area (across the parking lot from the Best Buy store to follow) and the dialog goes something like:

Them: Hello may we help you today?
Me: I'd like to speak to someone about ordering an upcoming phone.
Them: Which one?
Me: The HTC Incredible
Them: We don't know when that will be available.
Me: So you haven't heard anything about it being out at the end of the month?
Them: No. There will be some announcements coming this week.
Me: OK, so you don't know if that will be about the Incredible or the Microsoft phones or what?
Them: No.
Me: OK, thanks. I'll check back next week.

Then I stroll across the lot to Best Buy and go sit down in the comfy chair in front of the Mobile Phones desk. Am greeted by a couple of nerdy looking guys who probably actually know something. I begin to ask them about ordering the Incredible. I get the same story. "We don't know when Verizon is going to release that to us." I asked about pre-ordering it. He said that whenever it is announced I can pre-order it for $50 down and I can come in and get one the day they get them. We chit chatted about their warrantee/insurance plan which he said for that phone will likely be around $9 something per month. No deductible and no refurbished replacements. It does sound interesting so I got them to give me the fine print to take home and read. Then I did have the presence of mind to ask a VERY IMPORTANT question (to me anyway). I asked if he knew what the 1 year contract pricing would be. I plan on going with a 1 year because I KNOW that by next summer I will be jonesing for an LTE Incredible 2 or whatever it will be by then. He said Verizon only allows them to do 2 year plans. So, I'm back to ordering online whenever they are available.

So... anyone else considering 1 year vs 2, it looks like Best Buy isn't an option.

That's my day. Now to go back and read the previous 10 pages or so to get caught up.

Utlimately, I think it's the Sense UI that won me over (vs. default Home on the Nexus One or Motorola Droid). I got to play with my friend's Eris at work, and I love the way Sense works and looks.

Hey there, I'm new to this forum too, but it's funny that you mention that. I had a HTC Fuze before I ultimately made the switch to Android because of Sense UI. I ended up buying an HTC Magic from Rogers so that I could root it and throw a rom with Sense on it. Even funnier I hated it in its early days because it didn't run very smoothly, but it's a lot better now. I'm anxious to see what kind of device the Incredible is when it comes out because I'm looking to make the switch back from AT&T to Verizon. Anyway, welcome!

yea I'm with you, I can't stand a 2 year contract. Had to do it with the iphone and will pay the ETF to get the incredible to get out of it. I only have a couple of months left so it wont be that bad. I'll want LTE at the earliest time after my contract is up

Man today is slow.

I really hope this is the silence before the storm.

... Happy Saturday?

The only problem that I have using only my GV number now without access to a GV app is telling everyone that I changed my number and giving them my new GV number. Now if I make a call from my cell it still shows my "old" cell number in caller ID not my new GV number that I made everyone change in their contacts.

Anyone have a fix for this without using a GV app?

I believe you call your own GV number from the phone it is connected to, put in your PIN, then there is a menu option to make a call from that number or something

can any of our VZW employees on here comment on what went on in the stores today at closing?

Was it just a showing of the MS pink phones or was it something else?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but has their been a consensus on a larger available battery for the Incredible? I always buy the largest battery possible. I have the 9630 with the 2600mAh battery. I cut the back of the case out to make room for the protruding battery. That deal worked out perfect. I gained about 1mm in thickness overall with the big battery and a seidio case. So, I'm hoping for the same opportunity with the Incredible. Is the battery a standard form factor? So for instance would a battery from another phone work? Can anyone help me with these questions? Its real important to me to know these things. Thanks for any and all info!

LOL, good one! :D

So you ladies are pretty close to convincing me to return my Eris tomorrow, but I have a question...

Does anyone think they'll catch that I've installed 2.1 on it?

What I would do is do a factory restore before returning. Wipe the phone completely clean. Also I would relock the phone.

You mean people here actually thought that was the final draft? This thing was leaked before the phone is even out....

No, I didn't think it was final....there are a lot of grammar and spelling errors (I am a teacher) in it. I was asking that guy who thinks that the Incredible is coming out in late May that. He doesn't believe any of the stuff posted on the evergreen thread and cites things missing from the UG as evidence.

Dont know if this has been posted but figured I would post it anywyays.

Verizon HTC Incredible or Nexus One Release Date April 12th? (leaked email)

In regards to the link:

Nexus was delayed due to current problems that still have not been corrected (been beaten to death, so no point in articulating the problems).

Inventory control is not done at Verizon stores. They are centrally (and very tightly) corporate controlled. Stores do what they are told- no discretion for them and nothing to manage but customers (that is hard enough). Employees do product counts, but only to verify what the system says they should have at the store. Verizon has a very solid inventory system- centrally managed.

The info here by the "Verizon employee" is as solid as the "Monday is Incredible announcement day" ;)

Maybe not that one per se. But the info they are drawing off of has. And it a word "no". April 12th is Verizon and Project Pink living together forever in cell phone bliss. The first bullet point from the email is "Time to Share" which is the same line for MS Project Pink. Also Sandisk has confirmed Project Pink for the 12th

So yeah its Project Pink. I realise Anonimac got his post that it would be the Incredible being announced to the front page at Phandroid, but no one is sure why he thought that as it was obvious from the start it was Project Pink.

Ok here is my vzw story. Since I work from home I often have lunch with my 4 year old. We decided to swing by the local vzw store and see how much they don't know. I walk in with my lil gril and this hot young lady comes over and asks if she can help me. I go through the spell Incredible end of the month yada yada yada. Of course they don't know anything. Asked some other questions about other stuff and she was like where did you learn this stuff. I said Phandroid of course. So I pointed her to this thread and the Evergreen thread. She was like dam this site is cool thanks for letting me know did not know about phandroid. Anyways trying to do my part.

Watching "UP" with the fam. :) Great movie! Yeah, it's slow.

I heard that's good. Haven't seen it though.

Have you, or anyone, seen Up in the Air? The GF wants to watch it. Will I enjoy it as well?

....Waiting for the incredible... or some news to break

Thank you for this post. I appreciate knowledgeable lurkers. Beats out old farts, like me, who post utter nonsense!

I have bought a few online from Verizon, very easy to activate...just follow the directions - also, today, just downloaded and set up verizon's "backup assistant" - so now everything is online.....should be an easy swap to the INC - btw -I used to buy phones at the V stores just to have them transfer contacts...now I don't need them at all!

CM

What do you do if you are moving from Sprint to Verizon and want to port your number? Can you do all that online?
