A few Q's about the update...

I'm really considering getting this phone, but with all the issues it had, i've put it off.

Now the update has been released I have a few questions about it...

1) Is the phone now really responsive? Does it lag at all?
2) Does the update fix the text messages not being recieved problem?
3) Are users still getting the force close message?
4) Are there any issues with the wi-fi connections?

Hopfully this update has resolved those issues and I will be on my way to getting it. With all the issues it has had, would you still recommend this phone?

Many thanks for reading and I would really appriciate a reply :)

1) Unless you have a SERIOUS ammount of backgrounding going on, then it does not lag even with a full home screen.
2) Never had this issue before or after the update, blame poor carriers (I'm on Orange).
3) Yes, ofcourse. This is a fault with either Android or the app that is force closing, HTC do no control either of these.
4) I had issues with this pre-update but managed to make my router work, so cannot fully answer this question.

Impossible to tell.
Depends on your area. Personally I am only ever out of signal when in my school (surrounded by massive ammounts of metal :/)

I'm full bar right now and I live right near the countryside.

Thanks for the reply. Appriciate it. ;)

Anyone else have any bad experiences with this phone or able to expand on some of my original points...

That's 'cos people rarely post in forums to say, "everything's great, no probs". Once you ask around though, there are as many people without signal issues as with.

People need to realise that forums are full of people making threads about problems.

Too few people post about all the success they have with their phones..

And some of them are actually people hired by Apple specifically for the purpose of discreditting other devices.
