BBY21LD = Best BuY April 21st is Launch Day
Hey, stranger things have happened!

this also pinpoints the phones price around $200-250.Hello all! Thought i'd like to share an interesting discovery I made at work today. There has recently been a leaked screenshot of Best Buys inventory system of a smartphone coming to Verizon showing a sku and an in stock date of 4/25. It didn't have a specific description of the phone but it gave a model of "BBY21LD". Some thought it was a BlackBerry smartphone. I thought id do some experimenting with the sku to try to find out more. BB has a sign system where skus are entered and a price tag for the item that the sku is tied to is created. It also gives additional info on the item before it is printed. Well, i put in the sku from the leaked screenshot into the sign system and something interesting popped up.
After the sku is entered into the sign system, it takes you to the screen as shown where it gives additional detail. These boxes are autofilled after the sku is entered and cannot be edited. Notice under description, "HTC" shows up in front of "BBY21LD". This makes me strongly believe that this is indeed our beloved Incredible, and that we will definitely see a release at the end of the month.![]()
Absolutely nothing at my store- might be a regional thing..

Hey, stranger things have happened!![]()
It's already at Best Buy! I'll be there first thing in the morning!!!![]()
EDIT: I saw Clash of the Titans today, and they kept talking about "The Journey" and it kept making me think of "The Journey" that starts monday for Verizon, that will include the Incredible. I really should take a break...
At this point there is no way to eliminate voice minutes using Google Voice. Any time you talk on your cellphone, using your Verizon number or your Google Voice number, it will count against your minutes. The way GV works is that when someone calls your GV number, it forwards it on to whatever phone you specify. In this case it would forward it to your Incredible, therefore, it will use your plan's minutes. When you call someone with your GV number, it first calls your phone and then calls whatever person you want to call. So it still uses your cell phone's minutes.Theoretically..... Could you call-forward everything to GV and then use the Android app?? Thereby eliminating the need for voice minutes?? Can texting be forwarded with GV? Probably not, but just thought I'd throw that out there...
-GV newb (very interested though)
I was thinking the same thing the last few days. I know 10 months from now, I'm gonna want the newest, hottest phone, instead of waiting 22 months. It'll (IMO) be worth the $30 - $50 extra for the phone to go with the one year contract instead of 2. Using the Droid as an example, it's $559 without a contract, $299 with a 2 year contract ($199 after rebate), and $329 with a 1 year contract ($229 after rebate).
Most phone's on Verizon Wireless are a $30 difference between the 1 year and 2 year contract. A couple are $50, and the blackberries are the only ones I noticed that were $70 more. Droid Eris is a $50 difference, while all other HTC phone's are a $30 difference. So if I was a betting man (which I no longer am after my week in Atlantic City over spring break), I'd bet that the Incredible will cost $599.99 retail, $329.99 before $100 rebate on the 2 year contract, $229.99 after rebate on 2 year contract, and I think for a 1 year contract, it will cost $279.99 after the rebate. Just take it for what it's worth

Lol... I fixed it... I meant April! Got too excited!![]()
Not sure where you're getting your info from, but Droid is $270 for a 1-year contract- looks like all smartphones are $70 more for the 1-year vs. the 2-year. However, everyone remember that if you're on a family plan, the primary line can get 2-year pricing every year instead of every two (with a $20 early upgrade fee)..
Good evening everyone! Been doing my taxes (yuck) all day so now I have close to 10 pages to catch up on... Hope everyone is having an incredible day
I know I will feel incredible when I finish my taxes, my unexpected refund arrives, and I don't get audited!
did anyone notice verizon carries handheld comps around the strore with them now? why is that??
and some store have employees where name tags say flextronics..are they contracted??
For the people wondering why there were so many workers at Verizon stores today, I would guess it has to do with MS's Project Pink phones, since they are due to be announced (and possibly released) Monday.
LOL, good one!
So you ladies are pretty close to convincing me to return my Eris tomorrow, but I have a question...
Does anyone think they'll catch that I've installed 2.1 on it? My guess is no, because in the past when I've returned a handset I've already deactivated it by using the online ESN changer to switch to my new (old?) phone, and I've had reps not even bother to power the phone up. Just don't wanna get busted, refused a return, AND have my warranty voided!![]()
When I was getting a new phone for my husband tonight the rep asked me about my plan ( I had a family share 1400 min text and talk). He mentioned to me that we had not been coming close to our minutes ( I knew this) and told me I could drop my minutes back down to 700 and he could give me a "bank" of 500 mins that could be used in case of overages. I would just have to agree to extend my contract for 1 year but that it would not affect my NE2 or any of my other lines renewal dates. So i of course jumped on it, Just wondering where this came from- Is this as good a deal as it sounds?
Also can anyone confirm that accessories will be available at time of release for the Incredible? The rep helping me tonight told me they should be ( though he said he had never heard of our phone).
( see how I got that back on topic there)
Thoughts?
anyone else surprised we didn't get any info on what all the VZW employees were getting trained on tonight at the stores?
Cmon... somebody has to know!![]()
I was getting my info from the Verizon Wireless website. Here's a screenshot of what's coming up for me.
Mine shows a $30 difference for the Droid between the 1 and 2 year contracts also.
With all the phones, we get the screen protectors a few weeks before launch. I will play with some SKUs next time I'm at work and see if they're on their way.

PLEASE don't refer to it as hotlanta - huge campaign against
saw this on phonearena..dont know if it was posted yet..end of life for the droid eris..
It's the end of the line for the Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 and the HTC Droid Eris (Phone Arena News)
5/13 is fine with me. That will be a day after my knee surgery and I'll be at home recovering. I will be ordering the phone online and I will be available for the FedEx delivery.

that is 3 days after my knee surgery!
Well considering this phone has HTC Sense, just like a phone that has already been trained on, wouldn't the training be focused more on hardware, than sofrware? And thus making training time for the Incredible nearly zero?VZW is big on trainings. The fact that there has been zero internal training on any new device, in my opinion, means launch is not imminent. Granted, we could have a fire drill training, but on 6 new devices at once...not likely.
