Hello all! Thought i'd like to share an interesting discovery I made at work today. There has recently been a leaked screenshot of Best Buys inventory system of a smartphone coming to Verizon showing a sku and an in stock date of 4/25. It didn't have a specific description of the phone but it gave a model of "BBY21LD". Some thought it was a BlackBerry smartphone. I thought id do some experimenting with the sku to try to find out more. BB has a sign system where skus are entered and a price tag for the item that the sku is tied to is created. It also gives additional info on the item before it is printed. Well, i put in the sku from the leaked screenshot into the sign system and something interesting popped up.



After the sku is entered into the sign system, it takes you to the screen as shown where it gives additional detail. These boxes are autofilled after the sku is entered and cannot be edited. Notice under description, "HTC" shows up in front of "BBY21LD". This makes me strongly believe that this is indeed our beloved Incredible, and that we will definitely see a release at the end of the month.:D

this also pinpoints the phones price around $200-250.

EDIT: I saw Clash of the Titans today, and they kept talking about "The Journey" and it kept making me think of "The Journey" that starts monday for Verizon, that will include the Incredible. I really should take a break...

At this point there is no way to eliminate voice minutes using Google Voice. Any time you talk on your cellphone, using your Verizon number or your Google Voice number, it will count against your minutes. The way GV works is that when someone calls your GV number, it forwards it on to whatever phone you specify. In this case it would forward it to your Incredible, therefore, it will use your plan's minutes. When you call someone with your GV number, it first calls your phone and then calls whatever person you want to call. So it still uses your cell phone's minutes.

The only thing that GV can save you $$ on is texting. That's because using the GV app to text will be seen by Verizon as using data, and therefore it will be included in your $30-per-month unlimited data plan. So you won't have to get a texting plan on top of your data plan. Unfortunately, if you do a lot of picture/video messaging, you'll still need to use Verizon's plan. That's because Google Voice does not support MMS (picture/video/audio) messaging. Hopefully that's something that's integrated in the future.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but Droid is $270 for a 1-year contract- looks like all smartphones are $70 more for the 1-year vs. the 2-year. However, everyone remember that if you're on a family plan, the primary line can get 2-year pricing every year instead of every two (with a $20 early upgrade fee)..

Haha, well, that would be a major bummer for me if Best Buy got it before Verizon now that I'm most likely going to get a 1 year contract. Unless Best Buy was getting it April 21st, and Verizon gets it the week before, as in... maybe this Saturday (Day 6 of the 6 day :confused: journey). I think that's a little too optimistic. But it doesn't hurt to hope :D

Handheld computers? Do you mean like Tablet PCs?

And Flextronics is a company that is contracted by VzW to do tech support.

There were not crazy amount of workers in my store today. But depending on the size of some stores, they have an inventory count they need to do, it could be coming this Sunday. They were probably there to count in the new inventory and make sure numbers matched up.,

He mentioned to me that we had not been coming close to our minutes ( I knew this) and told me I could drop my minutes back down to 700 and he could give me a "bank" of 500 mins that could be used in case of overages. Also can anyone confirm that accessories will be available at time of release for the Incredible? The rep helping me tonight told me they should be ( though he said he had never heard of our phone).

With all the phones, we get the screen protectors a few weeks before launch. I will play with some SKUs next time I'm at work and see if they're on their way.

No one in our area was trained today. It could be a regional thing that other places did have trainings, but we didn't.

You're guess is as good as mine right now, folks. We have heard 0 internally about the "pink phones".

Thanks for the backup. Maybe it's different in-store than online? I'm not sure what the in-store 1 year contract prices are, but if it's true that ALL smartphone's are a $70 difference there (instead of just blackberries), make sure you buy the Incredible online (if you plan on doing the 1 year contract).

*With the exception of the possibility the Incredible is actually a $70 difference online also, then feel free to buy it in store ;)

Are you's told what phones the screen protectors are for when they come in, or not until the phone is actually in stock? Asking because we're at the "few weeks before" point right now. Thanks a ton :)

Verizon has different regions that operate somewhat independently. Pricing structures may often vary across different regions. When you put in your zipcode, it directs you to your region's pricing.

If we are grasping at straws I'm going to say that they switched the 2 and 1 to through us off and actually will be the 12th! I like that better!
 
VZW is big on trainings. The fact that there has been zero internal training on any new device, in my opinion, means launch is not imminent. Granted, we could have a fire drill training, but on 6 new devices at once...not likely.

Well considering this phone has HTC Sense, just like a phone that has already been trained on, wouldn't the training be focused more on hardware, than sofrware? And thus making training time for the Incredible nearly zero?

common sense would say you are right. It would be like going from the storm to the storm 2. Only the hardware was a tad different. Everything else was the same. If this be true this explains the lack of training so far.

There has also been a CSR (or former) that has said they sometimes don't train till the day before and sometimes its online on a computer. So myabe VZW is just waiting.
