Holy $hit, we might be long lost relatives...I'm GA GA for magic hat #9, in fact any apricot ale. I know a magic hat regional rep so he hooked me up with some merchendizing for my home bar.

Anyways, in the spirit of practicing what I preach, please continue beer discussions with me via PM.

This is kinda on topic. Burlington, VT is where Magic Hat is brewed & they have a bar in their "store" where you can try ANY and as many of their varieties as you like and of course they have their unusual, small batch, hard to find and limited edition ones as well as the standards. Did I mention that this is FREE?? Hmmm, maybe VT holds some possibility for a "reunion"??? :D

Wow, way to stretch that to be "on topic"...I guess "probation avoided", LOL.

Anyways, I've been to that area and bennington (to see that great monument! LOL). Used to go skiing there and, get this, had the best Phili cheese steak I've ever had...and yes, before you ask, I've had it in Phili too.

OK, now self moderation...no more posts about this for me.

From what I read in one of those phone descriptions the Incredible records in 3GGP. Why? It seems like when ever a phone that is GSM phone that records in MP4 when Verizon gets is it records in 3GPP. The first that comes to mind is the Omnia 2. 3GGp is a terrible format that lowers quality a lot and many media players dont even play it. Ohh and another example my friend had a US Cellular RAZR 2 and I had a Verizon RAZR 2. We both recorded the same thing. We found out both the video and audio quality was exceptionally better on the US Cellular version. I just dont get why Verizon does this stuff to its phones

Possibly a limitation on network data transmission? Verizon might require video that is transmitted be in such a format to reduce data needs on video messages. This is only my guess though.

Sounds to me that the Incredible reunion should be in Burlington, VT. Great little city on the lake.

Team Class6 microSD micro SD SDHC Memory Card 16GB 16G - eBay (item 300408652395 end time Apr-18-10 03:56:19 PDT)

Yep. I'm going to buy the knockoff card that has "Taiwan" in the name. That's what I want to do :(

My source says there were no shipments of phones today

Edit: ADR6300's that is

Did your source say where the boxes came from? Microsoft, HTC, LG, Samsung, or Verizon warehouse. Also, does he work for Express or Freight side of FedEx?

The town I live in has almost 17,000 people and they got a half pallet of stuff today which is odd to me. Plus they had triple the work force today.

Thanks in advance.:)

Sorry...(hangs head in shame).

How about the obligatory "READ THE FIRST POST!" which, to most people here, means you can talk about whatever you want. As long as you are not disagreeing with anyone =P

Note from forum Admin, please read first!
Phases: Go into this thread knowing how large it is. Know that it is not all completely on topic. The OP, Anonimac, will make a best effort attempt at keeping THIS top post as up to date as possible on current news on the device. ;) Sorry I had to.

Sorry if this is already posted but I have a question about the confusing discrepancies between the battery specs of the Droid Eris and the Incredible.

The Droid Eris and the Incredible seem to share the same battery (1300 mah). But, the talk and standby times are completely different in a weird way.

Droid Eris Talk Time: 214 minutes
Incredible Talk Time: 313 minutes

Droid Eris Stand By Time: 373 hours
Incredible Stand By Time: 146 hours

(Link to Eris specs)

Why would there be 100 more minutes of talk time on the more "powerful" phone using the same battery but 230 less hours on the stand by time??

I would assume that the HTC Incredible would be lower in both specs being that it has the more powerful processor. Even if the Incredible has a more energy saving display (AMOLED) and it offsets the processor difference, these time discrepancies don't make a bit of sense. Someone please enlighten me. Just something I'm curious about.

While I think something is definitely wrong with the standby time for the Inc, I'm not too surprised at the talk time. Remember, even though the processor in the Inc is much better and faster, it can also be designed to be more energy efficient than the comparatively old processor in the Eris. Look at desktop CPUs now, they're definitely more energy efficient compared to processors even just 2-3 years older. Better performance doesn't always mean worse battery life and as you pointed out, the OLED screen helps conserve battery, too. Eespecially if menus are black with white text as opposed to the other way around, due to the nature of how OLED works... look at how the Zune UI is designed.

This is probably a really obvious question, but Google isn't helping me with the answer ...

What is the point of the optical track pad on Android phones?
What specifically are they used for? I'm assuming scrolling, but it's possible to just scroll with the touchscreen, so I'm awfully confused. Thanks for any insight.
The biggest advantage for a trackpad/trackball is when selecting where to place the text cursor if you need to correct a typing mistake.

Basically, it is format designed for GSM phones and universal transfer of video across the 3G network. It is structurally based on MP4 format and there are converters to change to MP4, AVI, etc. for PC viewing.

Edit** I think it most likely a way to reduce bandwidth needs for network video transfers, but I could be wrong.

This is the truth. These can go bad and more than likely the ones that will are the off brand ones. I had a a bad one right out of the package, got it exchanged and a local store (fry's) and it worked fine, but the Ebay hassle? No way.

Time out to say thank you:

Anonimac (or however you spell that name): Thank you for your tireless work for us and phandroid. I have already recommended you for MOD to the MOD's. If they don't promote you, then they are short-sighted.

(Personally, I can't figure out why anyone would want to be a MOD, babysitting us, who are a bunch of babies!)

NKT: You have put yourself in harm's way for us, jeopardizing a lot to take care of us. I really respect and honor you.

Montana Man: You've taken a lot of grief from us. You are a great guy. I am honored to call you my friend and as we promised: we will either call each other or text each other first from our new Incredibles. You're the type of guy who I know people go to when they need a real friend. (Boston Sucks.)

Kappy: I am honored to call you my friend, too. (After all, we're FB friends. Why don't I see you post more..is it because I'm on here so much I don't use FB anymore?) I love your sense of humor. I call you my kindred spirit.

To all my friends unnamed: I love your humor and desire level for this new phone.

Trolls, Negative Nancies and those who think I talk too much: Thank you. You're teaching me to take the high road and patience.

To the MOD's: Two Sporks, Phases, etc.: You have been great. You've been great! You've always come around to the right decision! Thanks! I want to ask you to keep us going in one form or another after the Incredible comes out. Pleeeeeze???!!!!

B/C I'm tryin' to stay off probation!! :p;):D

For the people wondering why there were so many workers at Verizon stores today, I would guess it has to do with MS's Project Pink phones, since they are due to be announced (and possibly released) Monday.

I am not gonna lie. If there is one thing that will be the death of me, it is the SD card talk. There HAS to be a forum for that. We know it will not come with a SD card, and we KNOW it will have 8GB of onboard storage, so really........do we have to talk about every SD card available/for sale on the internet?

I wonder why people always whine about this forum being hard to follow.. If i'm 20 pages behind all I do is scroll down the page reading the posts that have the 20 Thank You's under it.. Those are usually the posts you need to follow anyways..

My only concern from this phone is the battery. I am buying this phone for my girlfriend, who has verizon, (I have been waiting for Nexus One, but it appears it will never arrived to Verizon).

But the battery is less than Nexus one and the talk time, stand-by are way less as well.

I'm workin' on something for that ;)
