Root [Verizon] Another battery life post

Seems my battery life has gone down since flashing the latest CleanRom 5.6. Generally, I do not have problems with battery life, but not so much now!

I only have the native battery stats app so nothing fancy. I will attemp to attach a screenshot taken about 6 hours into my day. Open to suggestions how I might improve this issue. Thx :)

Yes wiped factory reset. 2nd day for the ROM. I flashed the latest lean kernal as well as the recomended RPM file and modem. Accordong to my battery stats, the screen is using a crazy amount of battery! This is so weird cuz I've not changed my screen settings. I always run it on Auto brightness...

Screen should be your highest battery drain. That's normal for any device.
(assuming you actually use it)

Sorry Mike, not ignoring...just now got this reply!

Ummm, let's see if I can post a ss...:)

(I did go ahead and get BetterBatteryStats last night.)

Nothing there. Go into the advanced settings and enable root features. Then go to alarms. It'll show you everything that has woken up the device.

Keep in mind each time the phone gets charged it clears these stats. So its best to give us all of these graphs at the same time when the battery gets low.

Yeah sorry bout that...I was just getting ready to go on a short trip (but didn't go!) and plugged it in then I checked in here!

Apparently there's not enough data to render information...

Its not able to retroactively go back. It can't start recording what's waking up your device until you've enabled the setting.

Tonight fully charge the battery, and then tomorrow don't restart the phone. Use it like normal and tomorrow night when it gets down to 20-30% show us the screenshots of "alarms", "kernel wakelocks", "partial wakelocks", and the "other" screen

If its an app, we'll know after that.

If its not an app Ill have you install gsam battery monitor(its free). It will help us narrow down other factors.

Thanks Rxpert! I will do as you suggest tonite/tomorrow...

EDIT: Oh yeah, not sure what you mean by "...don't restart the phone.". Can you 'splain?! :-)

There are a few different filters with betterbatterystats. One of them is to show information "since boot". By not restarting the phone at all it will ensure its showing us everything from that charging cycle.

There's a show since charged option (which you should use), but sometimes rebooting or wiping caches can clear out that as well.

So...are you saying that I should let the phone sit all day at idle once i unplug from charging?

I think he said use it like normal, then report later in the evening.
Sometimes what I do is hit menu, then select "custom reference"
Leave it sit for 2 hours unattended, or use it normally.
Then open app, and pull up "partial wakelocks" since "custom reference" Or, Processes since custom reference, or kernal wakelocks since custom reference, or alarms since custom reference....follow? The "custom reference" sets a "start" time.
You can check it later and it will give you the usage since your "custom reference" time set...
Did that make sense?
There is also a help area in that app too:)

Yeah that makes sense...

I'll catch on soon :p

All I know is I GOTTA get better battery life or I'm gonna be forced to flash my 5.5.1 nand.

(Out at the mall while wifey is shoppin) I was down to about 18% earlier this eve so put it on charger b4 leaving and it was 100%. It seems to be doing a bunch better I gotta say...so maybe the new kernal, modem, and rpm file simply needed to settle in? We'll keep diggin :p

Hey thanks for the help!
