for anyone who has ordered a phone line: was it shipped or delivered the next day? can you get it only m-f or do weekends count too?

i believe you just need to know the account password.

No, my dad just got a droid the other day, and since he wasn't authorized to change anything my mom had to call customer service to make him able to upgrade a phone and add a data plan.

And deal with the hassle of paying the additional $100 and having to use a mail-in-rebate to get your money back? No thanks. I'll order it online, get the $100 instant rebate, and get free overnight shipping. It's worth the few extra hours to me.

That's why you should go to Best Buy Mobile. I've never seen them do the mail-in rebate thing and it's in your hand that day.

Some Verizon Authorized Dealers will also work with you.

So... I just got finished eating Macaroni Gril...

Can any Verizon or BB workers try to see if they can get a screenshot of the screen protectors or extended batteries w/prices? :D

They are just SKUs, no products or images yet sorry. And I don't want to risk my job and post pictures of the SKUs in VZWs programs.

Will that program eliminate the need to look at your phone and tap a contact when voice dialing? On the Eris, you can speak "Call so and so" but then a list pops up on the screen of possible contacts and you have to tap one. Does this program get around that? If so, that's great!

Well, on my phone, I press and hold the search icon and than it asks what I want to do. I can do it all from the headset than but still can't initiate it from the headset, unfortunately. Maybe in the upcoming versions of VDHF.

viperboy,

Look for docks too if you can. Specifically the desktop dock. I think the droid's car dock was pretty.... crappy and was just a holder with a magnet without a pass through.

I did find a SKU for the mount, which would be the car dock. Haven't found one for your desk or something yet.

50 is the price of the extended battery, right? Also, does it come with a wider back or something?

Correct, and yes it should. Most of the new phones come with the back when you purchase the extended battery.

Thanks for the reply viperboy. I have seen that app described at AppBrain. It does appear however that it requires touching the screen and using phone's mic/speaker to initiate and then switch to the bluetooth. From their description "Unlike Droid's Voice Dialer, VDHF talks with you! It uses the phone's speakerphone/mic until a call is made (and can then switch to Bluetooth)."

This precludes true hands free and absolutely precludes dialing with phone in holster.

Anyone else have any solutions you have encountered for similar problem on virtually all other Android phones (except the one I mentioned earlier)?

Like I said, it works well but cannot be initiated from the headset yet. Hopefully that will be fixed by that developer in the not so distant future.

If you order by a certain time, I think it's 4:00 pm, it is delivered next day; I think it's business day, tho, so not Sat. or Sun.

I do. Where I work, T-Mobile and Sprint have spotty coverage. Verizon is perfect.

That's what I figured, same with me. But waiting for the EVO, as someone suggested, would mean switching to Sprint which doesn't have 100% coverage (I'm trying to be kind and understated... ;) )

Exactly. I'll be going to Best Buy. Instant rebate FTW.

what do you guys think about the EVO? worth waiting for? and whats the difference between the EVO and the Incredible? Which one do you think will be better??

Didn't want to get upstaged by the EVO announcement. Also, by most accounts, VZW was still in the last phases of testing at that point. VZW usually likes to have all their testing done, t's crossed, and i's dotted before they announce a device.

If that is the case, why is the EVO not being released until June or so, and the phone that was still in testing being released at least a month earlier?

When you don't have Sprint signal, it roams on VZW towers.

Yes, I know that but I was told that was voice only and that data didn't roam on VZW. I think it was posted earlier somewhere in this thread. I even checked on Sprint coverage in my area and it looked like that was the case.

I don't mean to be rude whatsoever, but please look back in this thread. I know its very long, but we've JUST been through the Evo comparison and we've been over the Nexus One comparison about eight times. :D:cool:

dammit verizon! it just figures that my current bill is due the 29th and the phone is due to drop on the 29th! looks like verizon will have an incredible day indeed! haha

Ok, here's yet another VZW rep story, but this one made me pretty happy and even more confident in apang saying the 29th.

I called VZW to take care of some data charges on a couple of my lines. After we got that sorted out, he brought up that I was eligible for an upgrade. I brought up the Incredible and surprisingly he was the first VZW employ I've spoke with that knew what I was talking about. We spoke for roughly an hour but this is the gist of what he said.

To make referencing people easier I'll call the rep Jim and his tester buddy Bill.

Jims friends with one the testers and said that Bill currently has the Incredible. He also said that Bill's had it for roughly 3 months now, and he loves it. Bill also recently just returned the nexus one(Jim said that Bill had that since the end of last year). Jim said that the N1 was SUPPOSED to be launched the 23rd of March but due to software issues it was delayed. Bill told Jim that it was due to the touch sensitivity or something along those lines. Jim also said that the past week they've been getting a bunch of emails saying that something big is coming in the very near future, but nothing has been announced. Jim said that in the emails he believes(along with his co-workers) that in a few of them there is a logo but its cut off so you cant make out what it is. All in all though he said that Bill was VERY confident that the N1 and Incredible will be released at the end of the month and his guess is that they'll be launched at roughly the same time(kind of like eris and droid). There was quite a bit more but that's pretty much the meat 'n taters.

O he also said that both of them were blazing fast. So I'm pretty pumped about the end of the month quite possibly being the END of our Journey. As much as I enjoy reading this thread and the people who contribute, I'll hopefully be enjoying my Incredible more:)

I have been out of the loop for the past few days (i.e. x jillion posts) so this may be useless info, but I just stopped by the Verizon store in my neighborhood and asked the guy if the HTC Incredible is coming out tomorrow and he said, without any hesitation, "no, they are just announcing it tomorrow. That and a couple other phones."

I hope this is true. We might get true, final spec, and some new pics.:D

Agreed. My only drawback to the Incredible is it doesn't have the 4.3" screen, but I'm over that can't wait to get my hands on it. I WILL be looking to upgrade to an LTE 4.3" screen in the future though.:D

I would have preferred the larger 4.3" screen but also prefer the AMOLED so I'm happy with the Inc. Also, as much as I'm looking forward to LTE, I doubt my area will be one of the first to get it and I'm really not looking forward to metered internet access as VZW is rumored to switch to with LTE.

Nice! Hope he knows!! ;)

now i dont know if i should get the n1 or the incredible :/ what are the pros and cons of choosing the incredible?

Check out this link. It highlights the basic differences. Also watch the SenseUI video on YouTube by HTC (it's about 8 min long). The rumors are also that the Inc doesn't have the same touchscreen issues of the N1. Also, from what we've heard, you can't use your NE2 or other upgrade discounts on the N1 as you'll have to buy it from Google.

If someone could PM me, that would be great. Sorry, not that I don't trust you guys, but I know that sending the info to the mods will get it into the right hands and things. Just waiting for a PM from a mod or Guide.

+1 Agreed 100%

When I ordered my phone online for my last upgrade I had it the next day. But I'm pretty sure it's M-F only. Don't know if you can pay extra for Saturday delivery.

Two completely different phone on two COMPLETELY different networks. You just have to look at some of the specs and comparisons and decide for yourself. I DEFINITELY wouldn't go for it but Sprint sucks in my area and that has to be factored in as one of the comparison items. Also, TFT vs AMOLED screen is a dealbreaker for me personally.
