When will it get JellyBean/

Appreciate the info, but similar articles have been posted in the past for various LG Handsets and they're pretty much fake.

As far as I'm aware, the motion isn't compatible with ROM Manager (although I'm prepared to be corrected on that).

Fwiw, I'd strongly recommend no one try the process laid out in that "article", you'll end up with a shiny paperweight!

We have recovery (2nd init recovery) and CM10 now, but that article is still fake.
ROM Manager still doesn't work with this phone and wont until the bootloader is unlocked.

I'd guess about the 16th of Never. :p

Doesn't make any sense to update the Motion. It's done with.

I read it on the gretbiggo neon sign over there that says, "LG MOTIONS $49!" :D

Actually it's common sense.

There are only 2 carriers even using the Motion, Metro and Cricket. They've probably dropped more Motions and broke them in Metro stores than Cricket Bought All Told. Metro is selling them for 1/5 of their unsubsidized price.

The Motion's REAL useful life span has about another WEEK to go, til as soon as the Spirit hits the shelf. Within 12 months from now, the only people who will still have Motions as their primary phones will be the poverty stricken.

If you're the phone software people you have enough trouble getting resources to where you Need Them Right Now This Very Minute and that ISN'T working on any uipdate for the Motion. Especially when as far as I can see, you'd gain exactly ZEERO even HAVING JB on a Motion.

That's how I see it anyway,

to clarify;

I was thinking. :D

When I said earlier the Motion would reach the end of it's uselful life the day the Spirit came out, I Meant relative to it getting a further sw updates.

OTOH, the Motion I think could Still fill a Nice Role for Metro for several more months. I am just SWAGing here but what would make a lot of sense would be to reduce the Motion to $99 at the end of the current promotion.

Then, regardless of which other phones Metro keeps they have a bitchin' a** FOGEE deal/plan for Everyone! The Motion plays the Intro position for $99, the Spirit is the middle of the line-up for $200 and $400 gets you swinging the S3 Big Bat. It's hard to ague with the Motion and the lower Metro plans for the thrifty minded.

The Suthn' terminology for JB on a Motion would be, "fixin' sumpin' that ain't broke". ;)

Any comfirmed date on the release of the LG Spirit, which I'm assuming is the MS870 and the price point?

If it's reasonable, I will buy it and keep my Motion as a backup as I'm assuming that one would only need to swap the SIM card, or would Metro require a current Metro user with a Motion to buy a new SIM as well and to pay for activation?

Or would it just be plug and play - swap the SIM from your Motion to your Spirit (along with the apps installed to your SD card) and you're good to go?

Supposed to be sometime this week
If you switched sims you would only get 4G, no talk or text. If you bought it you would get a brand new sim & the old one would be deactivated

I called a few local Metro PCS stores and most of them didn't even know about the LG Spirit and those that did said they do not have a release date or price available, so IDK we will be seeing them available for at least another 2 weeks.

Of course, none of the people I talked to sounded like they knew much about anything.

I wonder how much they pay these people?

I have a teenage nephew looking for a job and he seems to have a lot more on the ball than most of these sales reps at the Metro stores.

Most of those people don't know anything till they start training them to use the phone a couple days before release

Would you be a cool metro employee?

Walk in with a bricked phone

My phone's giving software problems

Sammyz: Yeeeah right "software problems". whatever lets switch your phone out

:p I'd fix it, not for free though. I charge for flashing firmware for others

Ah OK:) That's much more reasonable. I'd do the same haha

Yea, people go to stores to get their phone working and leave. People come to friends to get their phone working for free, then chill. So then and only then is there time to teach :p

I actually went to a corporate MetroPCS store yesterday to get my phone working. As soon as it was, I left.

Figured I would offer this up in this thread to maybe make a little noise. Like and Share to your hearts content. No guarantee this will speed things up, but if it's any consolation the White House only requires 25,000 signatures on a petition to explore what is being petitioned.

If enough Motion owners (non-rooted and rooted alike) spread the word, who knows...the power of the people could make an impact...Visit this facebook page I made, if you so desire, please like and share it, spread the word.

LG Motion Android OS updates

Thanks. I liked it.

Will the LG Motion ever get jellybean? I mean the s3 has it and I think the motion could run it. Any news?

It all really depends on when (either metro or LG) will release the update. And yes our phones are more then capable of running JB:)
