cool ill try. im not here to start any rumor wars with how this place picks that stuff up! haha I am just excited of what i was told from someone that i know i can actually trust as opposed to just any joe at a vzw or other site. cause believe me i have pestered him about this phone since i first heard about it back in jan. on this forum. I was actually the one to first tell him about it! haha and not until about 2 weeks ago did he actually start ackknowledging that this phone even existed! I just thought i would share it. if that makes any sense.

It seems that by now everyone is smart enough to understand that everything is speculation or at least an educated guess and not fact. Therefor, it's a big waste of energy arguing. Just take everything for what its worth and draw your own conclusions. Until it is released by Verizon that's all we have to go on. I'd rather not have someone not post something that may be important for fear of being ridiculed.

Suggestions on screen protectors? What's a good brand?

HTC claims the eris does not need a screen protector , and apple has stopped selling screen protectors...they also say no screen protector needed.

Are we sure the Incredible is going to need a protector?

They're not a requirement, but most people swear by them and demand that they need one. It's your call, but with the phone being so shiny I don't think it will be a bad idea.

InvisibleSHIELD or Ghost Armor.

Completely scratch proof and 100% lifetime waranty

I already emailed InvisibleSHIELD and they said it would take a few weeks after the phone is released before they'll have protectors for it.

I've heard good things about Ghost Armor. Have you used them? I don't want anything that feels sticky or tacky like a few do. I personally have never had a problem with the ones that Verizon sells in the store for like $10 for 3.

For the AMOLED screens, I've read reviews saying that protectors help improve readability in sunlight. For the Incredible, I'd guess Nexus One screen protectors would fit.

A lot of screen covers cover the entire plastic/glass face of the phone, in which case the Nexus One ones would not fit correctly.

You should probably try the ones just leaked unless something cheaper comes up. Those are official and would be garaunteed for a fit.

The InvisibleSHIELD and Ghost Armor are at least twice as expensive as the 3 pack you get from Verizon. But, if it ever scratches, bubbles, peels up etc... take it back to any kiosk and they replace it for free.

I used to work construction and had InvisibleSHIELD put on my Storm 1 and never had a scratch on my screen even after pulling it out of a pocket full of dirt and rocks from digging ditches all day. I found it quite... Incredible. :D

They should've (IMO) allowed a special trade-in to prevent customers to switching to Verizon or ATT if there is a phone that has similar specs to the Evo, with better coverage.

Stop right there. There isn't a phone that has similar specs to the Evo. Put aside the screen size, the larger battery, the dual cameras, the 1GB ROM and 8GB internal storage, the rumored Froyo debut, and the built-in wifi hotspot ... no phone -- repeat, NO PHONE -- can compete with 4G. Its like ... a whole other G added to 3G. ;)

If you're in a 4G city and you pass on the Evo, then I have no sympathy for you and your impending buyer's remorse.

ok- anybody have any ideas how soon after launch we'll see root?

I'm guessing that it won't be long at all becasue it will probably be as easy as the Nexus One to root, if not only a tad different. But for the first couple of weeks, I know I'll want to play with it as is for a while before i decide if I need something different. Plus, we can still use the standard 2.1 Launcher.... but some root apps would defintely help me out.

Lack of AMOLED display = fail.

My InvisibleSHIELD feels a little bit sticky, but over time you get used to it and forget all about it.

I'm worried because the Eris took sooo long that we might see some problems with the Incredible too. There are quite a few root only apps that I'm interested in trying out- especially set CPU to help save battery life...

What about when you take your phone and leave your 4g city? I also prefer the AMOLED screen. Just my opinion.

I recently heard about Set CPU. So it does require root to work?

thanks fanboy lol

Not to happy with those cases I'll probably just hold out and see if Bodyguardz membrane comes out for it.

I'm more interested in the Docks which hopefully will be leaked soon

I currently use an invisibleshield on my Zune and wanted to get something similar for my Inc. Do you think they'll be able to design one for the Inc given the "contoured" stepped back?
