Root Boot Manager Pro issues

I installed and bought Boot Manager Pro. To late to refund now. I tried setting up the phone ROM which was a success. Then I tried setting CM10.1 WildForTheNight as rom1. It lagged the phone so hard about 15 minutes into the install, and it automatically rebooted after being frozen for 8 minutes. Then it boots up. And it lags again within 15 seconds and reboots eventually again. Over and over. Someone told me Boot Manager works for this phone. So anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I am S-Off. Boot 1.50. Unlocked. And UnlockedPotentialHD is my ROM. Any help is appreciated :]

Boot Manager (Pro) doesn't support JB ROM's or any of the newest devices. The developers were supposed to start updating it in November but I think they backed down from that and the forums on their website seem to be dead. :(

You can read more about it in this XDA thread.

how are you doing that Brian706.. . I would like to do that except I would like to use a ICS rom in slot 1

That sucks. I'd hate to not be able to dual boot after upgrading :-(

Maybe someone could take over that project or work on a new one...

Ics rom will work fine. Just flash a jb rom to your phone. Then in boot manager do that set up in the phone rom section. It just takes a second. Then flash your ics rom to slot 1.

The phone rom is just on your phone, so any rom you can flash will work. The extra slots are just run from the sd card but I suppose they rely on boot manager and as ramjet73 said, it doesn't support jb :-(

Boot the jb rom as your phone rom?
I am running pacman jb rom and have a gb sense rom in slot 1. No problems here.
Yes, this works fine.

I have mazda's AOKP ROM setup as my phone ROM and my GB Sense ROM for flashing PRL's and two ICS Sense ROM's all working with no problem. The issues occur when running JB ROM's in the slots.

I always restore nandroids rather than flashing the ROM zip files and that works better for me, especially since the current version of boot manager can't handle Aroma scripts. You should still be able to flash mods that don't use Aroma after the ROM is installed in a slot.

They already solicited someone to take over the app in the XDA thread I linked but AFAIK there have been no takers yet. I suggested they make it open source then multiple developers in the community could work on it when they have time, and port it to some of the newer devices.

I tried it last nite. It literally took 8 hrs to unstall. Then i tried booting to slot 1 and It said it was empty. But when I looked on my SD card it clearly did install it... I dunno know. It was the lite version. If I could prove it works with lite version i would gladly pay for the full version

It works.

Did you try restoring a nandroid or flash a ROM zip file? I've always found that the nandroid restore works a lot better.

Good idea... It would probably be a lot easier to work on if someone already had all the code. Then they could just add to it. It's a good app, I'd hate to see it disappear.

I am restoring a backup.... but it is taking a long time.. almost 40 minutes.. still not done.. restoring system.img right now

any ideas?

Just give it time.

It usually doesn't take that log for me but it depends on the size of the ROM and the speed of your SD card. If it's restoring the system.img that means it built everything OK.

ramjet73

ok.. it is making progress.. its now restoring data.img

Thanks for always being there to help Ramjet 73. You and Brian are always right there

ok. It installed just fine. but now my phone just hangs on the htc screen... I pulled the battery and now it rebooted into recovery when I turned it on

That's strange.

Try restoring whatever you are using for a phone rom, then install Boot Manager Lite. It should pick up whatever you installed in slot 1 automatically.

wtf am I doing wrong......I am running cm10.1 as my Phone ROM and Mobster HD as ROM slot 1.. Nothing is working.. It just hangs on HTC screen

I did as You suggested I restored my Daily driver (cm10.1) then installed boot manager. It picked up the other ROM in slot 1 as you said it would. I go to BOOT rom and it just hangs on the splash screen

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe there's a problem using JB 4.2.1 as the phone ROM.

Try installing mazda's 4.1.2 AOKP as the phone ROM then re-install Boot Manager Lite. I know that works because it's the phone ROM I'm using.

Did you set up the phone rom in boot manager before setting up the sd rom?

Getting Started

Setting up your phone rom

Non 2nd Init Devices
Setting up your phone ROM is very important and you will be bugged about it until you do it. What this does is creates a boot.img of your phone ROM so that you can boot back to it from Sd ROMs. It also lets you boot back to it if your sd ROM install didn't go as planned. To boot it manually reboot ro recovery and browse to /sdcard/BootManager/phoneRom and apply the update.zip there and then reboot and you will be brought back to your phone ROM and all your data will be fine.

2nd Init Devices
Before you continue please see the device specific information for 2nd Init Devices below by clicking here
Basically the same thing as the non 2nd init devices as it is run the same the only difference is your boot.img is not backed up due to the locked boot loader. Instead a hijack-boot zip will be placed on your sdcard in place of the boot.img. This zip will act the same way however allowing you to get back to your phone rom as the boot.img does. If an install doesn't go as planned and you can still boot recovery you can also manually boot our slots by browsing to /sdcard/BootManager/phoneRom and applying the update.zip there.

When you change your phone ROM it is important to set your phone ROM up again!!!
To set up your phone ROM select the button Setup Phone ROM from the main activity. Once it is done you will get a dialog telling you about a succesful backup of your boot.img this should only take a few seconds to do no longer than 30 seconds.
