Root (Questions on Updates/Update Releases Here) Official Motion 4G 10c/d/e/f Firmware

Can someone help me with this e firmware? My phone get a data connection error at times since I updated from D to E.
 
Hello all,
I am new user here. I already rooted my motion and obviously something went wrong so im following the "unbrick" guide.

I found this "MS77010F_01" firmware online at mylgphones site. can anyone confirm that 1) it is indeed for the motion and 2) is it safe to use instead of the c or d firmware?

I unbricked my phone... to root again i go :D

I will use this new firmware instead of d and see if it works, though download is kinda slow. Will report when i get to it. Hopefully someone else tries this

I think they may have patched root with F, let us now if root fails. Thanks! You have contributed a lot with first post :)

I just flashed it.

After firm F upgrade, you lose root and recovery app.

But those can be installed again with current root and recovery tool.

I just tested with few root pgm (rom tool box, screenshot ex) and they work well.


Hope we fine out what this F version is about.


Just for fun fact.. in init.rc.. it says
#Backwards Compat - XXX: Going Away in G*
mkdir /system
mkdir/ data......


Does this mean they are already thinking about Firmware G? That comment has been been there as far as I know.

I have this same thing in version C...

symlink /mnt/sdcard /sdcard

mkdir /system
mkdir /data 0771 system system
mkdir /cache 0770 system cache
mkdir /config 0500 root root

Maybe version G = Jelly Bean?


But why would they need backwards compatibility??


Fwiw, version F just downloaded ;) Going to do some testing....
 
I successfully installed the f update with my rooted motion and verified that I had root access afterwards...no problems for me!!! Dont really know what the update was all about tho
