Root [DISCONTINUED] MegaTron 6.2.5

"After that, you can simply activate the hotspot -- in infrastructure mode -- through the Android Settings menu."

This is my ?......where is hotspot in settings? And where is this shortcut app?

Lol. There is no hotspot in settings but the ROM still has it. In order to activate the hot spot and access it you will need to follow the instructions in my post above. Everything you need to know is in that information. The link at the bottom tells you how to make a shortcut to the hidden menu with an launcher. Once you do that, follow the instructions I posted about going into Dun Nai and selecting NO where it asks you to extend modem.

The Hotspot Widget that you get from Google play takes the place of the options in settings. Use it to control the hotspot. Just tap the widget once everything is done and it will pop up in the status bar. Pull the status bar down and tap the icon and you'll have complete access to the internal hotspot. :D

Both the Skater and i have tested the hotspot and it works great.

No once you do that you have o make another shortcut to the hotspot settings. After you tap activity in anycut scroll download to tethering and the menu should be one of the options. Once you tap it, it will create a shortcut for you.

EDIT: ya bet me to it wetbiker lol

They are the same steps used in ctmod except you will need the hotspot Widget to turn it on and off. It takes the place of the hotspot feature in settings.

I had to download launcher pro. What is the app name that permits access to hidden menu. Don't want two launchers installed?

It's called Anycut. Do a Google search for Anycut apk. I just checked and there are several places to get it. Google play quit carrying it.

Downloaded Any Cut. Installed shortcut for hidden menu . Uninstalled launcher pro.

THANKS wetbiker7!

You're welcome. Glad you got it. Just remember that you'll have to go into the hidden menu shortcut each time you reboot in order to activate the hotspot. ;)

Just when I thought I had settled into being happy with rooted stock on my Sprint Marquee, YOU BASTARDS PULL ME BACK IN!

Time to backup, download and flash.

Damn you all.

err..... THANK YOU!

Alright, I had something weird happen that I haven't encountered with any other ROMs to date.

EVERY app force closes whenever anything is attempted by the phone, be it launching the app itself or background activity. Also, the notification bar disappears, though I can still pull it down.

Thoughts?

did you restore any data from cwm?

Yeah it was built off the boost build, so you prob got the call/support/bill numbers.

Exactly I did get those numbers. It was kinda funny after I got it flashed I was like wait I did download the Sprint version right?

I have also found that attempting to shut down/reboot/reboot to recovery will result in the phone not actually shutting down, but ending up back at the lock screen with the status bar up top not being populated.

I have to pull the battery to actually shut the device down. When I start it back up, the bar displays information again.

I'm going to try a fresh install.

BTW, I'm on the Sprint version.

What is FF27?
Does this rom have to be rebooted daily to avoid hangs like CTMod does?
How does performance compare?
Looks good!

Don't mind that, it was suppose to say ZV4, no it does not hang up because its not running CTMOD's kernel. i cant answer the last question as i don't have an LG Marquee. maybe other users can answer it.

I've been considering rooting my marquee. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but I'd like to try this out, so may just give it a try this weekend. Seems like there are plenty of choices of ROMs to choose from, and I'd really like to get something else running on this.

So wish me luck.

Can we use the H4 beta builds on this?

Yes you can.

Did you factory reset?
One thing that you might want to do before installing this ROM is a factory reset, clear cache, and wipe dalik. Then go to advanced and reboot recovery then flash the ROM. Give that a try and see if it works.
