And Grandmadroid, I'm on a hosted exchange with Mailstreet that pushes EVERYTHING to my Nexus. yeah it sucks the battery dry in 12 hours, but you get all your data no matter where, no matter when. It runs about 25 a month, but there are cheaper hosted exchanges. Mailstreet also does tech support in english if that matter to you.

It's been a long long week for me. I covered for the receptionist at the salon I go to and worked a full week. Tuesday to Saturday. I forgot how draining that it. I'd go work there in a heartbeat though. Then had to attend the bridal shower for my cousin on Saturday afternoon. (Would have rather stayed at work :eek:)

Hey everyone.

So I just set up the Nexus 7 for my youngest and used the "set pin" option for google play. That's a great thing, so that he isn't racking up a huge bill. I hope it works for in app purchases too.

I have a question for you though.

He promptly downloaded a bunch of free apps, which I am guessing isn't covered by the pin, since it isn't trying to charge anything. Is there a way I can stop him from downloading anything from the play store without some sort of pin or something?

The only thing I know if is to set the maturity level in the settings. I don't know if it truly works to weed out apps though.

The pin lock will prevent in app purchases as well. And as BB said, you can set the content rating, though you rely on the devs for this.

In other news, it awoke to some pretty strong 4G at home this morning. I wonder when VZW turned that on. And holy :eek: I can't get speeds like this on WiFi

Awesome Pup! Although my speeds have dropped by 50 percent since they were first turned on at my house, and 75 percent at work due to congestion. :p

I took my son to hit a few tennis balls yesterday, I was pretty impressed, he did pretty well for his first time. It was funny he did best on the running shots than the ones I hit near him. He really enjoyed it too. :)
 
Yeah was 27 according to my car this morning, which is usually pretty accurate. The thick layer of frost and sticky door seem to confirm that temp. :p
 
Morning all... It's only 52deg here this morning... Out in the dark, with my coffee and Nexy and sitting here in shorts and a T... Sorry, not the image I was shooting for... Sorry.
Anyways, yard work, replacing plugs and wires on the car, moving our comp downstairs today.. Not much to do, just hang out all day!

One of the few things I like about SNL is discovering some new bands. Alabama Shakes was on this past Saturday. They're great! If you like The Black Keys, you'd like em.
 
The Opitmus G Pro looks nice. So does the Htc One. I'm sure the S4 will be good. I also like the Sony Xperia Z. But I want a Nexus! And I want the cold hard facts about the Moto X!
 
I know your feeling about wanting a nexus. That layer of security knowing that you'll be able to restore from just about anything is nice.

Finally getting around to flashing a new ROM today :) No idea which to try though! So many choices. Which ones are all you guys on nowadays? Most people still on JBsourcery? I've been getting poor battery life, though maybe it would be better on the newest version.
 
NYCHitman is recommending CarbonROM, he says he gets good battery life on that.

I've been using LeanKernel for a while, but I don't think it's playing as well with my phone as it should be. Might be time to try something else - what are popular kernels these days?
 
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone knows what I need to do prior to selling a Verizon phone? I know to wipe it, etc., but how do I make sure that they can activate it and not have it charged to my bill because of the ESN?

I've heard that you need to get another phone activated on your line first, and then the other will be okay, but what if you don't have a phone yet?

Got to have another ESN attached first, or the other phone won't be able to be activated on the buyers line.
