Help OTA Sprint System Update

Nice, I think the Galaxy S2 owners will get the 4.1.2 update before us Uk unlocked Note 2 users at this rate, still no sign of it here.

i've heard that updating to 4.1.2 will draw more power and thus drain the battery faster.

has anyone who've updated experienced this or is it just an isolated incident?

So far, battery seems the same to me. I'll report back in the morning.

Posted from my G-Note II.

One thing that I did notice is, it actually fixes the issue that people were having where pressing the home button will go to the home page.

Now, when I press the home button (while on standby), the phone will go to my widgetlocker lockscreen. Not sure how it will act with the stock lockscreen, but I do like this fix a lot (although, I'd prefer to be able to turn that off completely and have the power button as the only way to take the phone off standby).

I actually prefer my home button taking me to my home page. I haven't done the update so I'm wondering as long as I'm not using a lock will it still function as usual.

Got 4.1.2 last week 2/13 was discussing on another thread. :)
I just got it this morning but didn't do it yet cause I didn't want to loose root until I can find the time to re-root if necessary.

If you're not using a lockscreen, I figure it'd work exactly as you're using it right now, but instead...pressing home button will take you back to the app you were using (or homescreen, if you weren't using an app).

The reason I like the change is, if that button gets pressed by mistake while in my pocket, I'm not good with potentially pocket dialing someone or the battery getting used up, just because it accidentally turned on. Going to the lockscreen first, prevents that from happening.

@DrEx....Hi stranger!!!

Understandable regarding the lock screen.

I like the fact the power button would always leave me in the app I was using as opposed to the home button taking me back home.

I haven't used a lock screen for a while now so I never considered pocket dialing; probably b/c I'm always on it in one way or another.

Yeah, there were 2 things that really bothered me about the Note 2. One was every text message waking the phone up and the other was the home button going directly to the homescreens. As you know, I found a solution for the text messaging thing, but never found a solution to prevent the home button from working at all while on standby.

Since I pocket all of my phones, I have a higher probability of the home button causing issues for me than others that use a belt clip or for women that use a purse. I prefer the power button being the only button that can wake the phone up because of this.

I remember. I use the app but darn shame I cant remember the name of it.

I updated this morning but noticed that the Home screen rotation does not work. Is this only available for tablets?

Homescreen rotation? I don't think Samsung's touchwiz ever had a landscape view, did it? This is part of the reason that I've used a 3rd party launcher, for majority of my time on Android (since the original EVO).

SMS popup. I recently switch to Go SMS again, just because people were saying that they didn't have any lag with it (but, after a couple weeks using, I'm still noticing the slight delay in response as I had during my using it on the Photon).

I may switch back to stock and re-load SMS popup, just because of that "lag".

Hasn't affected my battery any it doesn't appear.
Since the update this morning, 2/19/13 battery is at 54%; 12h+ with 3h+ screen on time

I can scroll a web page without zooming in and out with my finger on the edge of the screen, where it belongs, now.

I also like having Google Wallet too. :D

@ScandaLeX Where have you been? :D:D:D

Hi Baby!!!! :D
Short answer- mom has Alzheimer's and I'm doing 15000000% of this alone.
You know fam- disappear when you need them the most.

I've been clicking all day "install update later" .... wanted to see if there was a root for it yet. I guess my phone got tired of me clicking later cause now I cant get it back and don't feel like stalking the internet to find it.
