Ok so I just got my Evo and decided to try the paid mobile hotspot for a month. It sucks!! Has anyone have any suggestions? The service cuts in and out and is very unreliable

Welcome to Virgin Mobile. You should consider rooting your phone and then try it again but with out paying VM

I've been a VM customer for some time now, but first time I've been able to try the hotspot. Rooting is in the works, but I am stuck and awaiting help from some members about the bootloader. The Optimus and Triumph were much easier lol

What help do you need on the bootloader? There are many of us here that are knowledgeable with this device. Have you checked out http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-a...ing-evo-v-4g-roms-kernels-using-fastboot.html yet? It's very helpful!

I have tried the guide and as far as I can tell I have all the software I need but when I try to run adb it says it isn't recognized as an internal or external command

That means you aren't running the command from the right directory. If you are on windows 7, the easiest way to get command prompt to the proper directory is:

Browse your computer until you open the folder that has adb.exe and fastboot.exe in it. Then go back one time. Hold shift and right click on the folder that those are inside of. Choose open command window here.
