Actually, I told me teenage daughter about the Kins and she got really excited about them. I don't think the phones are useless. They are just aimed at a demographic that you don't fit into. Different people value different things differently, you know?

My co-worker has an Eris and I've played with it enough to really appreciate HTC's build quality, Sense UI, and overall philosophy.

The Eris is nice but it struggles to keep up with your inputs. I'm sure with the Snapdragon in the Incredible it will be budda smooth!!

Sooooo looking forward to having this phone in my hands in the next few weeks.

No on the Apple thing. They are going to sell as any as they can until they are FORCED to stop. They are NOT going to stop ad wait to see if it is "o.k."

They are always going to have a bunch of returns when a new phone comes out. It's the nature of the business. What's funny is that Craigslist in my area has just exploded with Eris's for sale. It is not just us, in this forum that are eagerly awaiting the Incredible.

VZW isn't dumb with the kins... Well they are, but they realize getting the teens hooked early will translate to more smartphone sales later on and for longer. They want to build lasting relationships.

I found it interesting that yesterday there was also an article posted about how more high schoolers are planning on getting an iPhone :cool:

Go figure.
 
Is it know right now whether the Incredible will have the exact same screen as the N1, and if so, how likely is it that the multi-touch issues will be fixed in the Inc?

As I recall, those issues were related to hardware, not software, right?

VZW is not going to release a phone with a known issue like that.

So we don't know if it has the same screen or not, what's been reported is that whatever screen it has (hardware wise) the multi-touch issues on the N1 are no longer there. I don't think it's clear if that's the result of a different screen (hardware) or a software fix.

I don't think the Kins are a dumb move at all. It is a great mid range phone for tweens and teens that will blend them into smartphoneland, for sure.

Plus, she isn't old enough to drive, so she doesn't need the navigation. Ditto on the job, so there's not a whole lot she would need the look up, especially away from home which isn't very often since she's still in school and the age she is.

These phones market exactly what she would want in a phone and I'm sure she isn't alone.

Having said that, I'll die before I buy one for myself. But I'm sure I'll end up buying one for her and I'm not ashamed to say it. :)

As far as pics taken by the Incredible, "Woodsey" is your man here. He found a bunch that were labeled as taken by SDR6300 on flickr or some other photo hosting site. It was obviously during the testing phase, but some are available out there
 
Last week I figured that today would be the announcement. What do you think? Anything going on at 1 today in the media? Anything like the Kin event of yesterday?
