I have a spare Warp, didnt have service. I want to let my 2 year old use as a tablet. How can i remove the phone function of the phone. it was ok so far until BOost decides to be nice and give me a month service on the phone. Didnt discover this until my 2yr old called some friends and left long voicemails of wife and I talking. Luckly wasnt talking about anything important :o

Also, how can i change the DPI of the phone, im using NOOBVIII.

Thanks,
Eric

Dpi can be changed via editting the build.prop in the system folder if you are rooted. There is a line of script a few pages down. I don't recall the exact line but it ended in 240. That's the dpi. Lower it or raise it to your choice. Usually increments of 20

The line in build.prop will probably read ro.sf.lcd_density=240. The display looks best when you change the number to a logical fraction of itself, e.g. 180 (75%), 120 (50%) etc. So far as removing the phone feature, you should be able to remove Phone.apk (with Titanium Backup or manually from /system/app) without any consequences, but I can't say for sure as I've never tried it lol

Hope this helps! :)

Another option is he could try freezing phone.apk with titanium backup.

You can also dis-able the phone function like this,
settings/more/mobile networks/data enabled.

Uncheck data enabled, this way the phone still stays functional should you ever need to use it again.
Deleting system apk's is usually a bad idea in my experience. Not that It wont work.

I think if you uninstall the phone.apk...it causes FC's...? I haven't done it in a while, but I think you'll get a com.android.phone has stopped responding? I could be mistaken though
