Root boot image flash

So I've decided to be safe rather then sorry and not S-Off. I know, I know, man up. Just can't afford a brick lol. Anyway, I think I read that it is still possible to flash cm10 if you flash the boot image through fastboot. If so, could someone point me in the direction of a guide or thread to do so? I have 4ext installed and hboot 1.57. I will admit that, having come from the V and Triumph, all of this HTC lingo can be confusing!!

I thought I read somewhere that I could still flash certain ROMs with S-On if I flashed the boot image through fastboot. Wasn't referring to flashing hboot. Can flashing the boot image through fastboot be done with 1.57??

Yeah it's easier than it sounds, I was as scared as you were worrying about having a brick and then I manned up did it on my 2nd try :D

I came from the triumph and i was on the fence about s-offing but i did it. So i would say go for it!!! I believe to brick this phone u going to have to do something like hmm i wonder what would happen if i flash galaxy s2 stuff then yea you gonna brick. As long as it say HTC evo v/3d cdma u 99% wont brick your device

I'm willing to give it a try but when I click the link in the RUU guide to download the latest version, I get a dead link?? Anybody have a mirror site or a working link?
