i doubt it will be more than 250. or at least i hope not. :(

i think those days are over.

Some Verizon guy back in November commented that $199 is the new maximum price point for all phones going forward. I think with the data plan subscription requirement, Verizon has positioned themselves to make out nicely despite the subsidy such that there's no need to price the phones any higher. I'll bet you $199 that it'll be $199 for a 2 year contract. ;)

Verizon has offered me and a few other people in select markets and early upgrade offer from a regular phone to a smart phone... so they definitely seem like they are more concerned with getting people on a data plan.

Larksville...the good side of the river. About 20 mins from you.

Why don't you two get a cup of Hot Java and then explain the April 10th date to me. My world is having a polar shift if dates are changing for the release. I can only take so much. I can't afford more probation.. (mods/admin)

Nevermind, brain damage is acting up again. Always wear a helmet. Trust me..

i heard about verizon offering this to people so i went in the store and brought it up and they knew nothing about it. i was slightly persistent and got special permission from the manager for an early upgrade though ;)

I don't know if we ever got any kind of confirmation on the type of AMOLED display being used in the Incredible or the Desire for that matter. So, the question remains if we'll be getting the same Pentile matrix AMOLED display that the Nexus One has. Just an FYI for everyone, if we get no real investigative confirmation up to the release day, I have every intention of getting to the bottom of this immediately. I work in a facility that has high mag optical inspection with digital imaging capabilities. I intend to slip the phone under the microscope early in the morning and snap a few high res shots of the subpixels. Will probably need a flashlight app to force illumination of all the subpixels, but at least we'll have our answer without relying on some hocus pocus supplier part number matching. Will post to this forum when I get my answer. Anyone know if the Android market has a flashlight app?

So here it is.... my 600th post! lol.... better make it count, huh, Steven? ;) So... here goes...

Fast-forward to the day that the Incredible is finally released....

Price of a soda pop and candy bar that you bought for the wait in line with the dozens of other Incredible junkies: $2.00

Gassing up the car to head down to your local Verizon store: $40.00

The bundle of cash that you brought with you for your new Incredible and all the goodies: $400.00

The look on Steven58's face as you turn around with your new Incredible in hand, and hearing the helpful salesman sadly inform Steven (who's standing next in line behind you) that you just bought their very last Incredible of that shipment: PRICELESS!!!

:p

Congrats, my friend! :)

Don't the flashlight apps just use the camera's flash, not light up all the pixels?

I have a question for you folks in the know on how VZW works. My DH and I are on a family plan. My line is the primary line and is eligible for my NE2. His was activated last June w/o contract because it was a phone we had purchased outright off of ebay. Anyway, he's been eligible for an "upgrade at a discounted price" according to VZW pretty much since we activated the phone. I had always assumed it was a "NE2" because that's how it was worded. And when I used that Best Buy upgrade checker that was posted on here yesterday or the day before, it showed that both lines were eligible for an upgrade and discount. So my question is, what discount amount would normally be available on a second line? I've heard several folks say that you don't get two NE2's so what does the second line get?

Thanks in advance!
The way I have seen it work is this: the primary line on a family plan gets the NE2 discount, which is based on the plan you have and when you signed on. You can use your NE2 discount at the 2 year mark (actually, they let you use it at 20 months, so it's a little less than 2 yrs). You can upgrade after one yr at the promotional pricing, but you only get to use the NE2 discount if it's been 20 months. The secondary lines are eligible for promotional pricing on upgrades at the 1 year mark or 2 year mark, but they don't get the additional NE2 discount. Hope this all makes sense, not sure I explained it too well!

Welcome, aboard.

I believe it was Steven who first summoned me out of the woods, cold and scared.

"Don't be afraid, child," he said tenderly.

Take a bow, Steven58!!

DogerinNH, you are a disciple of mine and you only have 56 posts? That better be from just today!

:)

Steven takes a bow. :)

I love this place!!!!

Here's the information on the early upgrade I am eligible for. A CSR on the phone confirmed my account is eligible, and my dad told me he received something in the mail yesterday regarding it.

Disclaimer: Before clicking on this link, it has nothing to do with the Incredible specifically. Just saying, no new information regarding that here. However, if you live in Northern California, Upstate New York, Central Texas, or Ohio/Penn it may interest you.

How early of an upgrade did you get? I'm curious because I'm not close to my NE2 yet, but I was planning on buying one via Annual Upgrade..

Can anyone help? Can't upload Pix from my Eris to the forum. (shows disabled) These Pix r of some HTC inc accys. Stop me if the fade to black case, car mount have been posted.

PM them to Anonimac for the Phandroid watermark! Are they different than the ones posted in the Android Specs Evergreen thread?

Hi Everyone! I have been reading all the posts on here for a very long time on my crappy Blackberry browser. Let me just say...that is how much I am into the HTC Incredible. I can't wait for it to come out just like the rest of you.

Well, I just got an email today from my Verizon source. She said that the Incredible will be available on the 27th. I've dealt with a lot of Verizon reps the past few years b/c of my blackberry phones and she has been the only one that I could really trust, so I'm hoping she is right.

Anyway, just thought I would add to the rumor mill. LOL.

The 27th makes complete sense to me with training rumored to begin late this week and the BB (maybe Costco) available date the 29th as reported. Verizon stores would have a 2 day head start. PLUS we've all heard the 2 weeks thing, well 2 weeks from the 27th is today.

There is a flashlight app that does not use the camera flash as I have it on the Eris that has no camera flash.

The VZW site has also changed their prices today with the top price smart phone being $199 and the BOGO on the droid is now get 3 BB Pearls for free.

Now with this droid, texting is soo easy and cool and reliable. I have no txting plan with verizon now ;) (I havent tried calling with GV, verizon has no data only plans... bummer)

Sure they do :D

$55 a month for unlimited web and texting.. Usually reserved for the "physically disabled" though.. So good luck..

*havoc walks into VZW and starts sign-languaging the employees*
