Root Porting ClockWorkMod to the Kyocera Rise

Ya there must be more to it then building a cwm recovery & flashing it otherwise there is other apps out there like flash image & even rom toolbox that will let you flash a recovery so if it was helpful i think they wouldve said, but i dont think it was

Does this help anyone?

Cricket services has the Hydro just a couple days ago so thats Boost Virgin Mobile Sprint & Cricket its still cdma phone but to be hounest idk if its Sprint like boost & VM is because there coverage map tends too look alot better covered then the VM coverage map, posting a Hydro phone here even though i dont own a Hydro but from what ive Followed there basically the same phone so if someoneone who has a hydro thats following the rises progress wants too put this info on there thread so i dont seem repatitive please do & maybe there easyier to get the software or tools for the bootloader that we need iam hoping they arnt so strict with there services since i read that cricket hydro users can tether without guilt

Kyocera Hydro | Cricket Wireless

Sorry for getting off topic (we have found no solution yet anyway lol jk)but How can i increase my graphics throughout my whole phone..kinds like a iphones

Depends what coverage area you are in. I had to pay extra to allow tethering, but i'll ask on the cricket forum i subscribe to.

Kinda Curious how the software operating systems setup on cricket like with VM / you have too use a app to tether does the cricket version have that tethering feature built in or do you have to use a app? It could be a overall diffrent software setup that may allow fastboot like canadian version of the Rise did / but bootloader was still locked, basically wondering if the software is easyer too tweak n get things done i know i wouldnt be much help with that phone because iam not a android rom hacker & deveper but if theres loose screws on one of the versions hopeing that we could all versions & carriers Benefit by it

No separate app required, but it blocks tethering by detecting packet data if you don't have the tethering option added to your account: 10$ gets you tether (wifi and usb) and an extra gig and a half of unthrottled data. I'll give fastboot a try when i have some time, but beyond that I'm useless. No pc and no Android background knowledge.

How can i use the built in tethering feature on my rise without paying if i can't what apps work for free tethering....i no wifi tether for root works but theres a NAT problem and i can't play online with my vita so I'm looking for a app (im saying the same stuff omg lol) that has an open NAT so i can play online

im rooted with vm rise and i use opengarden wifi tether and it works great, or you could go usb tether with easytether. im on linux.

Always go for the dev site wherever possible.

Malware in gray-source apps isn't a boogieman under the bed, it's a real problem hitting our members here more and more.

Always use the most trustworthy sources you can find rather than the most convenient. ;)

^^^ forgot to mention that.
Thank you.

Theres no such thing as useing the built in wifi tether for free, you can use quicksettings from playstore to unhide features built into our operating system like wifi hotspotting, then pay VM 5.00 exta a month & that feature will work but without paying 5.00 for that privelage to enable hotspot u cant use the built in feature of hotspotting it wont allow you,

Adding link cause theres alot of diffrent versions of quicksettings & all arnt the same

The App is free if you meant how to enable wifi hotspotting for free but to actually use the enabled wifi tether u need to pay VM or when u turn this feature on it will block hotspotting & say a message like your service provider blocked this,

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bwx.bequick

Good for non root users, but tested the app on my phone atleast quickettings had to stay installed, didnt on my old phone

Sorry, I removed your link. Basically the it was a scam. Its a template site, where they draw up a procedure for one phone and then just cut and paste a bunch of other phones with the same instructions.

First off, DO NOT USE ROM Manager! This is not a supported device and it will brick your phone. Period. Exclamation point, then another period for good measure :)

So I don't if any here looks at the hydro forum but some over there with a hydro on the cricket service said that cricket will let kyocera give them the bootloader so this might be the hope we have been looking for

We need to setup a bounty on XDA, as has been suggested previously. Are there any volunteers to do this among longtime AndroidForums members? I would feel better contributing to a fund managed by someone with some sort of history.

If no one else will do it, I would be willing to take on this role in early April. It would be great if someone else would step up sooner.
