When trying to implement a new feature on a live, busy site one often sets up a staging area. Some businesses have a separate domain which runs a mirrored, dated version of the main site (useful for when they're touching huge amounts of data). VZW is doing this, but with a subdomain. You can tell by the fact that you get a detailed error page from a bad url on the stage.phones URL. Also, the data on an error page has the following path: "www\estore.vzwshop.com-STAGE\htc\incredible\", which also points at a staging area for soon-to-be-released features.

Sorry I went on for a bit there, I saw some people asking about it and decided to give the "long" answer.
 
WTH? I deleted cookies, internet files, emptied cache refreshed, re-checked and its still the old page? wtf?

You can look at the source code if you want. Even if you don't know anything about programming you can tell it is indeed running off of verizon's servers. A scam this small on their servers? Not likely.

By stage, I think they are saying this is our stage for our phones to be shown off on, since there's a stage for most released phones as well as unreleased phones.

I don't think it's a testing area per say.
 
Well we now have our official release date. BTW, I put it my e-mail and got response back from VZW which looks legit. I like the Droid Incredible!

The LARGE PRINT that says APRIL 29th??????? Geez people, get a grip.

Verizon is playing us. Probably watching the site hits and updating info now, accordingly- brilliant, but evil ;)

So 4/29 is either a pre-order or street date. At leats we know that. How about confirming the 8gb internal (microsd or built-in to device).
