***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Ok... I'm going to carry on with my life now... off to the gym to pump up and do aerobic. What a good morning!!!

I can't wait for my new Droid Incredible (tm) by HTC!

I would be VERY surprised if there wasn't a press release today. They gave up their release date on a PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE testing site. It's not like this information came from a Verizon employee posting something from their Intranet.
I agree. Something is coming, hopefully today.

I'm waiting for it to say

"Just kidding. All you people at AF can suck it."
ROFL! I would be hella pissed, but that would be the best practical joke anybody's played on me in a long time. Talk about a setup! :D

The thing is, someone could be just F'ing with this thread. I mean what were we saying right before it got updated.

1. Is it still gonna be the 29th with the May 5th date.
Fixed

2. I wonder if it will be branded a Droid
Fixed

3. It's not official until it gets a tm.
Fixed

Someone could be laughing their asses off right now. I don't think that's true, but if I was a VZW employee and I was allowed to do that, I just might.

thats what i was thinking too....its not on the public page yet...they could be having a ball right now:D:D:D

View attachment 3028I noticed in the picture to the left of the Verizon logo 2 lighter circles. Since the one video (the original leaked bad quality one) and the user guide show the indicator LED to the right of the verizon logo, is it possible that this could be a camera on the front for video conferencing noone has known about yet? HTC has installed this feature this in the past with the Touch Pro I believe.

(sorry the image is small, not good with html, but i think if you click on the image it will put it full size)

No Proximity sensor and Led Notification light.

LOL, you're right there's something reflecting to the left of the Logo.

SEEEEE guys, I wasn't crazy when I saw something in viper's accessory pictures.:p

One is LED and other is proximity sensor. Too small to be a camera IMO plus not on any spec or FCC report.

I zoomed in on the pic. Their are two very small circles (indicator LEDs) to the left of the Verizon logo. I see a circle on the right, hard to make out.

Note:
1. Droid "saga"
2. Earlier poster of a launch with countdown

Anyone else think there may be a Star Wars connotation (other than the Lucasfilm copyright of Droid?)

My Samsung Rogue has these same two circles. One is a light sensor, and the other is a proximity sensor (so shut off the screen when the phone is held to your ear).

By stage, I think they are saying this is our stage for our phones to be shown off on, since there's a stage for most released phones as well as unreleased phones.

I don't think it's a testing area per say.
I may have been wrong about the Droid naming, but I know I'm not wrong about the term "stage" in this case. Once they're done updating the site (another indication that this is a staging site), it'll be moved to http://phones.verizon...

They do look similar to the evo's front camera. It is possible...

First time (another female) poster, but I've been eagerly awaiting the Incredible since the November announcement of the Droid.

I just happened to view the source code on the stage link and thought this was interesting (sorry if this has already been posted. I'm behind in my reading.)

img src="imgs/introducing.gif" width="552" height="24"
class="introducing" alt="The next chapter in the
Droid saga begins April 29th
."

I see the heading is reflecting the 29th now, too. Great! I can wait a few more weeks.

Looks like a circle to the top right of the letter n too.

No no... I can assure you a "staging server" is where companies demo sites internally and QA/troubleshoot them before flipping the switch and sending them to the live "production server". It's sometimes called a "Preview" server as well.

At my job whenever we are working on a new site for an internal department we always upload it to the "preview" or "staging" server first and send the link to the people in charge of the site so they can approve or request changes. Once everything is approved we then move everything over to the real server.

Also, "per se".

Droid Incredible huh? Looks like LucasArts gets to make an even more obscene amount of money.

In my opinion, VZW has quite a bit of money wrapped up in the "Droid Does" campaign to release another android phone w/o callign Droid being in the name. Now i know that the Devour is an exception, so you can ignore what I said. lol :)

The link just went viral... it's all over the blogging sites. More fine work by the good people of android forums. Funny, one site labeled us as "android junkies".

good job to Verizon for the droid branding, they continue their advertising from the first go-round with the moto droid. also when you say you have a "droid" google-thing, people know what you are talking about.

Edit: highvolts beet me to the punch

Hello - does anyone think that the 29th will be the announcement or the release? Those too dots left of the logo are very interesting indeed. What are they?
