Help Status Bar Clock Help

It might be an easy fix but I'm new to the S3 and my google-fu is failing me

I've messed with a lot of clock widgets and stuff, the original was too small so got a widget, removed the clock from the lock screen because it didn't match the one I'd just added.

Somewhere along the way I don't know how but the clock from the status bar has gone. It's there on the home screen but when I press the home button when the phone is locked just to check the time I only get wifi icons and battery percentage and meter

Is it a setting in another clock/widget app? I don't know of a setting in the stock ROM to make it not display the time in the status bar. Are you rooted/on a custom ROM?

EDIT- Oops, you mean it's not showing on the lockscreen- my bad.

ANd you've tried going to Settings>Lock Screen>Lock screen options and looking at the settings there?

Yeah, I can get the big clock to show and not show but nothing I can see about the status bar one. I've not rooted or anything I wouldn't even know where to start with that lol

I did get a clock widget and I thought by removing it the status bar clock would come back but it didn't, and it didn't when I uninstalled it either

I dont know of a non-root way to remove the statusbar clock either, widgets shouldnt affect it, so it sounds like a factory reset to fix it im afraid man

It's okay, I've not got much on there to lose.

Can I ask though, the clock was definitely there wasn't it, little digital thing in the top right of the lock screen on the status bar? Just want to check I've not gone crazy lol

Also, the backup/restore option. If I back it up onto a hard drive, how do I put it back on to the phone? Or will that also put the no clock back on there and I'm better off doing it by hand?

Do u mean backing up pics etc?
Not sure about lockscreen, ive never used the stock one but yeah there should be a clock at top right like this

Mine has some stuff changed but thats where the clock should be

Nope- you're crazy & apparently I'm stupid. I looked at my lockscreen (I use the pattern lock) and until I unlock the phone, there is no clock in the status bar, just the larger one in the upper right of the screen itself. The clock doesn't apper in the status bar until the phone is unlocked.

Doh!
Doing a Google search for "Jelly Bean Lock Screen" brings up as many that show the clock in the status bar when locked as don't, so I don't know if it is different depending on the phone/launcher/whatnot...

Yeah, I always backed up my Blackberry but had no need to use it so I don't actually know how to put it back on my phone, I assume that's how it works anyway

strange mine shows up when the screen is locked and its asking for the pattern lock also. I am however running 4.2.1 so that might be the reason.

what exactly do u want to backup?
Contacts are backed up to google. You can manually backup them also export to sd card(contacts --> Menu --> Import/Export --> Export to sd card.
Pictures/Videos should be synced to dropbox.
Apps would get installed automatically when u login to ure google account.

Just wanted to add. I don't have the clock showing on my lockscreen status bar either. Had noticed it before but never gave it a thought because the big clock was there instead.

*sigh* it's not the first time this has happened lol

I'm actually going to reset the phone tomorrow and prove to you guys it was there!

Okay so... I just reset it and it's not there. Anyone got the number for a top mental home? lol

Srs bsnss though you can delete this thread if you like

Stock 4.1.2 MB5 firmware

With lockscreen clock on in lockscreen options:

On lock screen - big clock no status bar clock

On pin screen - big clock no status bar clock

Home screen - no big clock - status bar clock

With lockscreen clock unticked in lockscreen options:

On lock screen - no big clock no status bar clock

On pin screen - big clock no status bar clock

Home screen - no big clock - status bar clock

What's a pin screen?

That means there's no way of there being a clock in the status bar on the lock screen doesn't it

Wonder why I thought there was, maybe I was thinking of the big clock

Sorry, now I feel like I've just had to tell ya your pets died.

Pin screen only applies if you have a pin or pattern set for unlocking your phone after display timeout each time.

Haha, no it's alright it's just one of these situations I get in where I'm convinced something is absolutely true and then it turns out it never was.

Ah well, I'll just have the big clock on my lock screen, nothing on my home screen but I might add a few shortcuts
