Help Headphone Mic Won't work

RC1

Newbie
Hey guys so I have the Roc Nation Headphones from Skull Candy. They work great but the only issue is the mic doesn't seem to work. It works on other phones but not mine. Is there any way to fix this that you guys know of? Thanks...

Edit: Running MTdev CM7

Are you on a custom rom or stock?

Should have mentioned that haha it's Mtdev CM7

Are you on an older release?

EDIT: I just remembered that our phone has a problem where mics dont work, i believe. I may be wrong but im pretty sure i saw it before.

Actually the problem doesnt lie within the rom, its the 3.5 mm headphone jack that comes with the phone. It has no connection ring within it to allow voice to be transmitted. The way i get around this is by using an unmic'ed set of head phones and speaking directly into the phones mic. Hope this helps.

RC1, there have been several discussions here over the years on headsets with mics.

Many people with skull candy and other cheap no-name sets say they work, others say they don't.

Don't know if yours have music controls, but that MAY be a factor. One guy said his Mic wouldn't work, but when he held the Play button while plugging them in, the Mic would then work, but his controls were disabled.

May want to play around and let us know what happens.

Personally, I use Motorola Bluetooth stereo headset, S9HD. Has play/pause/skip forward/reverse volume and phone buttons.
Sound quality can't hold a candle to my Grados, but it's decent enough for mp3.

Not much help, but it's all I got. :D
