While i was looking through the build.prop i noticed this line:

wimax.interface=wm0

I have heard our phone has the hardware in it, but could this be changed to wm1 to enable it?

You might want to hunt down chairshot. He knows more about the build.prop lines than anybody I know.

You could always try changing it, as long as you know what you're doing, but honestly I've never heard of our phone having the reciever for the 2500 mhz band that is "WiMax." I'll be watching for the results if you do change it.

Alright. Just sent him a PM. Ill see what he says. I saw it and remembered hearing that our phone has the hardware but its just not being used or something.

I don't think it's a toggle. I suspect it's a pointer to an interface. In linux, the first interface to a type is 0, ie, eth0 for first ethernet card, eth1 for second. Or wifi0, wifi1 etc.

I suspect it's a generic line which says, if we have wimax you'll find it on wm0.

Its kinda hard for me to test it as im on the outside of a service area to begin with and i dont get wimax here? Could somebody else who gets wimax in their area for sure try it too? Ill change it and watch what happens.


Edit: rdoac was right. Its just a pointer for an interface. The wlan also has the letters then 0 indicating its the first one. Im currently looking through wimax phones' build props to find lines regarding the wimax.

I'm pretty sure there is no WiMax hardware in the Triumph, since it is a rebadged Huawei that was originally made for another region. Well, if the triumph has no WiMax hardware in it, then why would it have an indicator in the build.prop? Thanks for the build.prop though.
