what exactly does this offer over the other ones? seems like he took aosp and started to merge in a bunch of stuff from cm/aokp/paranoid/other roms.

assuming he actually started at aosp and didnt just fork off like pac man rom

Dunno. But the addict in me will try any rom at least once. I've been waiting for a new 4.2.2 rom since it seems like they pretty much have all the bugs worked out. This one should hold me until you get bb8 out.
 
I was the one that actually asked if he could add official support because I run his ROM on my Xoom and like it very much. Then I found out he has it for GS3. I am running it on my device and it is working nicely

in my line of experience shared with all you great folks here theres one thing i've come to realize... most of all these great devs can compile something really cool but...... damn they suck at name picking for their roms....... wtf is a orca rom??? how do u get a freakin killer whale and name ur rom after that? might as well call it the shamu rom. just funny rant hopefully no1 takes this personal i always like to join in early in a thread with something funny so hopefully no one runs back to the dev and tells on me lol

It is like you said, where he merged or cherry picked features into one ROM. Main reason I am actually using it is it's pretty smooth and I have yet to find any bugs. Of course this is my device so I can't guarantee it has no bugs. Still looking forward to your future work, just giving the people more options til then ;)
 
downloading it now. Would the inverted gapps from bb8 work on this also? Wanna try this until bb8 nv is fixed.
 
Yeah. LOL soon as I flashed BB8 I noticed nothing different except it is now no longer a phone. Honestly didn't see much different from 7. I didn't stick with it long though. Gotta have phone in case emergency with kids.

That makes me sad inside. :( I was looking forward to it. Did it have the brightness slider in status bar like touchwiz? I remember bb6 having that and was the biggest plus for me. Cm's slide across status bar just isn't the same.

No you'll have to slide your fingers across the status bar to adjust the brightness.
