OK. I was talking with my former college roommate last night. If VZW sometimes trains a day before release, what are the chances of VZW training Thursday and releasing Friday? Tomorrow the pre-order page could go up for a Friday delivery???? Just thinking out loud and hoping.

Was it a leak or wasn't it a leak? who really knows.
But it may have caused them alot less trouble since it was leaked and or just an open mistake.
For the most part the only people that will see that are the people that really know and or care about this phone, which at this time is several thousands I would guess, so here's some of the things they will have to deal with less.
1) People calling asking and or trying to trick reps out of telling them the release date or if the phone existed (I have actually done this myself lol)
2) People will probably less inclined to go get a new phone and return it with such a short wait time now, less returned moto droids and htc eris's .. so they will be sure nothing goes wrong and they get their NE2.
3) The threat of perhaps people going in stores being naked chaining themselves to counters (I think I read that somewhere in the past 100 pages lol)
4) Maybe even perhaps saving some customers that are so mad that were thinking of moving to another carrier because of the lack of info.
I must stress #3 again

Hey Nash, I just wanted to give you props on saying that this phone would be called the Droid Incredible. You predicted this months ago when we were dealing with passion thread and newsradio.

So I've seen a lot of people posting replies and questions to things that were said several pages back and already addressed. I thought I'd share my technique for replying to people whenever I'm playing catch-up on a thread.
Just a suggestion that will make everyone's lives easier
- Find a post you want to respond to.
- Open the post in a new tab. You can do this by middle-clicking the number at the top right of the post.
- Continue reading the thread, opening new tabs for each post you plan on replying to.
- Once you're at the end of the thread, go through the opened post tabs and close all of the ones that are no longer relevant.
- Go to the tab for a post you want to reply to and click
- Type your reply beneath the quote. Do not submit the reply.
- Go to each the next post tab and click the Quote button.
- Copy the quote text from the text area and paste it underneath your response in the first post tab.
- Provide a response for that.
- Repeat steps 7-9 until you've addressed all open tabs.
- Click "Submit Reply" and be happy that you've helped improve this beast of a thread!
...or you could click the multi-quote button. Well, at least if they are on the same page.

Not only that, but almost two months ago, I asked Nash's best guess as to when the Incredible would be released. His reply was "...end of April."

Don't want to beat a dead horse or perpetuate the conspiracy theories... but why are we so sure that vzw didn't want or know people were viewing the Droid Incredible site when it first got exposed? It's highly likely that there were dozens of hits maybe even hundreds within a matter of minutes, and then it was updated to fan the marketing hype flames even more with the inclusion of the "29th" date verbage to the site...all while it was still unbeknownst "non-password protected". Maybe Bid Red is just expanding on the veil of obscurity that was used to launch the Moto droid?

When I got into that site mine did not have a date like the one on the front here. It had no date?-Did everyone else's say the 29th?

It was buried 10 pages ago but that was the page at first, but then they changed it to have the date with a different, more catchy saying.

Well, thank you. Yes, I did call it a long time ago. "Droid Incredible." I believe I was the only one to do so. It was in a long post and I believe it may have been on the first page of this monstrous thread. How did I know? Educated guess. I have a degree in Advertising. So, I think like a marketer or an advertiser. Regardless, I'm just glad it's official now and I just can't wait till we get the high resolution official images of this phone. Plus, holding the phone in my hand would be nice too.

Thats how the page was initially, then in what seemed like minutes it was updated to include the name and date. But mine didnt refresh correctly until i force refreshed it so probably a cookie issue.
It looked like the image you posted at first. Then it changed to show the Droid Incredible naming and April 29 release.
