Hi Folks,

First post and glad I found this site because I too am foaming at the mouth for this handset.

Do any of you think that maybe VZW is playing this launch like they are because the learned some things from the Droid launch?

I am referencing this post to make my point

VZW went nuts hyping the Droid but it was Motorola that "accidentally leaked" the phone and specs according to the above thread.

yea you should probly eat your words on that one. It changed a few times in teh few mins it was open until it had the release date and said HTC Droid Incredible.

1. Somebody accidentally made it public, and fixed their mistake when it went viral online.

2. Verizon is a tease.

On the Verizon Wireless website, if you search for "Droid Incredible" it references to the Blackberry Tour 9630 which is rumored to be a place holder for the Incredible, and also has an announced end-of-life date in June.

Well, thank you. Yes, I did call it a long time ago. "Droid Incredible." I believe I was the only one to do so. It was in a long post and I believe it may have been on the first page of this monstrous thread. How did I know? Educated guess. I have a degree in Advertising. So, I think like a marketer or an advertiser. Regardless, I'm just glad it's official now and I just can't wait till we get the high resolution official images of this phone. Plus, holding the phone in my hand would be nice too.

Congrats on calling the name months ago.

It also doesn't hurt that Verizon spent over $100 million on an ad campaign for the Motorola Droid. I'm not surprised they stuck the Droid in front of Incredible for name recognition.
