Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Yep, already using it. Seems pretty sweet so far. Might watch that video to see if I'm missing anything.

One thing that I think folks may be missing out on is that apparently there IS Google Now integration. I believe you say "Take note" and then whatever you want to write. :)
Haven't tried it myself though. Seeing the real time update is a little crazy though!

One more thing for me to use Google services for. I love it. Now I just have to transfer over my notes out of color note and I'll have one less app to worry about TiBu backing up.

Thanks for all the well wishes and congrats, folks! :)

We would LOVE to fire Big Red and jump ship to another provider... but there isn't one. Verizon has us over a barrel, but we have an ace up our sleeve:

We pay $9.95/month for unlimited data per line on 4 lines!

So long as we pay retail for phones (have a special fund just for the cause), we won't lose that deal. If Verizon ever pulls unlimited data from customers, nothing will hold us there IF someone else actually expands into our area. Until then, we're really kinda stuck.

Chief... have you looked into Straight Talk? You can stay with the Verizon network on them but it's $45/month per line, unlimited everything from what I can gather.

morning every one how is the gang today?
I love being stuck in ocean tree hugging class i would rater be outside and watching the snow fall or watching paint dry... anything i better then this class :D

The only problem with that is that I don't believe they let you bring your own device for Verizon service. Their selection is pretty poor for Verizon devices as well.

In keep related news, my device won't open it. Every time I do it immediately force closes. Weird.

I've looked into this before. Until I can buy a phone that I want use it is a no go for me. The way I see it you should be able to use any CDMA phone that you want.

Ahh, I haven't heard about that. I was thinking about going HSPA anyway so I won't have to stick on the Verizon network. Why won't they let you bring your own verizon device? I would have to question that.

well if you think about it they wnat to keep their "high end" devices on contracts so you are paying more for the phone over the life of your contract... and on pre pay servives you are really only paying for the acess and verizion does not make more money off the phones anymore ... if that makes since at all just a guess though

This is definitely pay off it. Even though it is straight talk, with Verizon being cdma, they would still have to approve any device to access their network. By only allowing low end devices and very few selections in to of that, it makes more people go postpaid for them to make more money.

I understand that, but I assume Verizon is telling Straight Talk they can't allow people to bring their own phones? I'm assuming that's part of their licensing agreement with each other?

I imagine, but I think some of the carriers have gotten upset with straight talk. AT&T won't allow anymore sim cards to be sold for straight talk now. Just looked last night.

you know you would think that if they all run the same network why should it make a difference on who you give your money to... they just need to make it all cheep and affordable of everyone

Morning y'all. Data speeds on T-Mobile are pretty impressive. Remember that I live in Silicon Valley so I would expect it to be different for other areas. Yesterday I was getting 18 down and 5 up on HSPA+. That is actually equal to or better than what I was getting on Verizon. I think Verizon's network is saturated in my area. All the iPhone 5 and GS3 users sticking up the bandwidth. Couple that with the GNex's last gen implementation of LTE off chip tech and it is clear that I was at a disadvantage. Loving my Mako.

Running AOKP right now and it is super solid. This phone is faster than my N7 but just barely.

:D

How's everyone's morning?

How's everyone morning?

Doing well, I'm following you to T-Mobile, but going the prepaid 30 dollar plan. Ordered the Nexus 4's on google and just waiting for them to arrive.

Good afternoon all - happy almost Friday!

Using Google Keep - trying to decide if it can sway me away from Evernote, but we shall see. It is a very nice & simple app too which is awesome. :D

BTW Sourcerites:

Great things afoot in IRC ;)

:D

IRC is blocked in work - any hints on the new experimental features?

Thanks for liking the new AOKP thread in Makoland! :D:beer:
Yep, going to have to use to another codename now.

I think my speeds are going to be a lot better when I'm in a 4G area. On Verizon LTE, I usually had a hard time doing better than 5 Mbps due to congestion. Hoping T-Mobile will be better.
